gabapentin tolerence

Hi

I got prescribed gabapentin yesterday and took 7 X 300 mgs so I took just over 2 grams mixed with 60mgs of dihydrocodeine 1.5 mgs of Xanax and 15mgs of Valium (lol seems a lot wen I type it) my question is does tolerence to the gaba really build up in a day? Like won't even feel a thing from it after just 1 day?

Yes, gabapentin and pregabalin build tolerance the fastest of any recreationally viable prescription drug that I am aware of, even faster than benzos.

If you are using any medication therapeutically, NEVER use it recreationally, since hard drug tolerance is sometimes permanent to a certain degree. Having fun "just once" with your opioids, benzos, amphetamines, or gabapentin results in future therapeutic dosages not working as well as they used to. Also, gabapentin/pregabalin GREATLY potentiates benzos, leading to a much more intense high, at the cost of a much more rapidly built tolerance.

If you are using these recreationally, anything more than once a week for gabapentin/pregabalin is a waste, due to rapid tachyphylaxis (a rapid building of tolerance).

I wouldn't say a day, but after a few definitely. I took gabapentin for a year and a half for nerve pain.

If you end up taking it regularly carefully taper off before you stop. The withdrawals are some of the nastiest things I have ever felt... and easily last 4 weeks..

I'd liken it to a dirty acid trip with physical malaise, nausea, mud butt, chest pains, dilated pupils, audio hallucinations, creepy crawly body sensitivity, burning sensations, and a constant state of panic and fear. This drug was marketed to me by my doctor as safe and nontoxic, all that other bullshit.

I have lots of experience with gabapentin. The first recreational use, i took 3000mg. i felt great. mild euphoria, extreme increase in sociability, and a numbness in my body. The next day, i took 3000mg and the effects were minimal. I was surprised how fast tolerance builds with gabapentin. I now take 10000mg to have the same effects.

The weight gain snuck up on me, as I'm usually a VERY lean individual. At the start of my gaba regimen I was 6'0 155, ending I'm at 6'1 184. Definitely all water weight, after stopping the drug I've lost an average of 2 pounds a week just by sitting on my ass and not being on gabapentin.

Yeah Gaba and pregabalin are like that...you can enjoy once a week or maybe twice a week at the most before tolorance sets in...the good news is that once you stop tolorance lowers greatly...after 3 or 4 days doing without you can dose again and get a buzz usually or at least I can...true it is not as intense as the very first one.....so yeah tolorance builds very very quickly to say the least!
