I'm on probation and have a drug test every week. I've read online with mixed reviews that both may come up false positive for benzos. Ive been taking the nurantin all weekend, around 1500mg a day (5 of the yellow 300mg caps), the flexeril i took on friday (4 of the 10mg tablets). I have the test tomorrow. I've also read that the nurantin doesnt metabolize into anything else but the excretes the body the same chemical it came out (gabapentin). Im not sure how the flexeril metabolizes. I'm aware that both of these are NOT scheduled narcotic drugs. However false positves can happen. I need some feedback from people that have had personnel experience with both of these drugs and urine drug testing...whether or not they failed, didnt fail, failed and had further testing to show you really didnt have narcotics in your system or what.

I have in depth experience with both of these drugs. Calm down, you'll be okay. Flexeril is essentially an antihistamine with properties close to benadryl (diphenhydramine). And Neurontin is an anti epileptic used for diabetic nerve pain. Like you said, neither of them are a controlled substance so the test won't even be looking for them. Even if it does come up a false positive, they will send it to the lab for verification, and in that process they will deduce exactly what is going on. Relax.

false positives for benzo's is possible with cyclobenzaprine i forget where i read a list of known possible false positives. it also showed what drug would show up as what on the tests. ill try and find the link. google it.

Absolutely agree with above. Let them know you're on these drugs. You may even want to consider bringing the bottle so they can see that it was presrcribed by a doctor. I've had false positives in the past and they are a pain in the ass if you aren't 100% honest.

In my own experience with being randomly drug tested by my probation officer it is to my understanding that your not being tested with simple over the counter urine screens. When i was on probation i was told that my urine samples were being sent to Redwood Toxicology Lab in California.

Gabapentin will not give you a false positive for anything. I've taken this drug recreationally for over 6 months now and have never had a false positive the day after use.. I even took a test while on 4,000mg and nothing still came up. Not sure about the other drug tho. Half life in around 6 hours and the drug isn't changed when it comes out of the bladder
