Benzos Gabapentin (Neurontin) and Benzodiazepines.

Well I just researched it can take up to 3 hours for GABAPentin to come into Full Effect...... Is there any studies or some so I know EXACTLY when I can take a Benzo without it fucking with the absorption of it

Start out low as always, take and cur your doses in half for each...like if you usually take 1mg of xanax alone, take only .5mg with gabapentin.

Also know that benzos increase gabapentins bioavailability while decreasing the benzos bioavailability....usually I would take gabapentin allday and wait atleast 1hr after it to dose benzodiazepines

Yah it might not be the best hr advice to tell you it won't be bad to mix the two, but as long as to stick to low doses, don't drive, have someone watch over u during the experience and especially don't drink you should be fine.


The most important part is if you have a tolerance to both gabaprntin and benzos you should be fine, if you have never taken benzos or gabapentin, or if u have only tried one and not the other, don't take them together!

Do you have any sources you can link about GABAPentin interfering with Benzo Bio-availability. I know that if you need to take something on a completely empty stomach you only need to wait 15 minutes before you can eat a meal and it will not effect the absorption would this be the case for GABAPentin and Benzos I would really like to know but could not find a single thing about it on google.

Okay well I found in this link here that you need to wait AT LEAST 2 hours after taking an antacid before taking GABAPentin to avoid interfering with absorption which makes me think that waiting 15 minutes is probably not enough time I just got no idea though..... Maybe someone knows a source that says how long it takes for the Transporters that carry GABAPentin take to clear or w/e not sure how to explain my question very well here I feeel like a pain in the fucking asss right now posting in this thread again but I am the kind of person who strives to be perfect lol. I guess I will just wait 2 hours unless someone tells me otherwise..... It would make sense though because everyone says if you got to take a Medication or something on an empty stomach you need to wait 2 hours after a full meal.
 
@Thomas: They potentiate the shit out of each other. Not as bad as benzos and booze but nonetheless.
I found it to be pretty unpleasant even at lower doses (300mg & 3 beers). It just fucks you up in a nasty way.

I could also imagine that it is more straining on the liver and definitely do not recommend it.

Everyone is different, but here is my experience

While in a psych ward, they prescribed me 900mg four times a day (3600mg a day). Then, two days later, they prescribed me 6mg Ativan a day (2mg every 6 hours). I was fine, but mixing depressants is always dangerous so be careful.
 
Just dummied a bunch of champagne with 900mg GABAPentin wish me luck when I pass out drooling on my pillow tonight that I wake up. I must say my penis is feeeling exceptionally amazing right now may or may not be related.
 
^ Like I said, but some people need to experience it themselves. Me included.
But why ask and then ignore the answers and advices?
 
I take 5mg valium and a 400mg cap of gabapentin before bed every night. And melatonin. Sometimes xanax too, only 1-2mg though. Gives me perfect sleep... Safe as. Otherwise I am an insomniac....
 
Okay I am getting conflicting Information on Google I read somewhere GABAPentin does not effect GABA at all but than I read somewhere it increase the Levels of Available GABA which is correct? I know the main effects are from the Calcium Channels or some or w/e but need to know if it effects GABA at all even if a bit.
 
It's been over a year since I messed with gaba, but man did it fuck me up. I'm only reiterating what's been posted, but mixing gaba with benzos and/or booze will have you all kinds of fucked up. I don't recommend trying the combo if you have even the slightest problem with benzo's. It will bring you to a dream state and heavily suppress you, and your ability to function on reality's terms. It's the great escape.

Overall, the true nature of gaba comes out sooner or later. It will leave you dry and confused while you're way too gone in a depressing, grimy, and twisted reality. When all is said and done I can't say I wouldn't do a gaba combo if given the chance, as it does achieve the goal of getting very, very intoxicated, and it does offer a unique and glorious high during the honeymoon. However, everyone should exercise caution when delving into gabapentin combo's.
 
yeah also to reiterate; benzos + gabapentin = stumbling slurring mess, depending on the dose. It got me insanely fucked up that i can't even remember my doses but remember being wobbly as fuck and euphoric. I had like at least 3g of gabapentin, i think i used it up in 2 days with clonazepam and was exceptionally high the whole time. Not recommended for those without benzo tolerance and best as a stay at home safe kind of drug combo as well.

i'd really recommend taking half dose of benzo plus 300mg gabaP and keep staggering your gabaP doses until you get where you want. I think you'd be far too fucked up from the combo to really do any damage (if you're just at home), unless you end up taking all of your stash of benzos/gabapentin.. which does happen to some people.

Not sure exactly how dangerous it is, but there is this interaction listed:

Alcohol: Avoid alcohol while taking gabapentin, as gabapentin may cause alcohol intolerance that leads to an unpleasant reaction after drinking alcohol, such as flushing, redness of the face after drinking alcohol, nausea, palpitations, or headache.

I've only drank in extremely small amounts while on gabapentin because I was worried it would synergize with the alcohol, causing far more drunkeness than usual and potential respiratory depression, and I got a headache and felt sick right afterwards, but I'm sensitive to alcohol anyway. I would say aside from the possible side effects above it would be best to avoid drinking with gabapentin because we no one understands how gabapentin works and in general with CNS depressants mixing them can be dangerous. Even if it wasn't potentially fatal I think it would increase sedation and disinhibition etc, basically making the effects of both the alcohol and gabapentin stronger in a way that could be bad. As obviously some of the posters above have found. Does that make sense?

No one knows. Studies have found it doesn't bind to GABA receptors, but it's possible it might affect GABA levels by some as of yet unknown indirect mechanism, since it sure feels like it's increasing GABA.
 
Sorry for Bumping an Old-Thread of mine but I just want to say all the Information given in here was of great Help and I just don't know how Long to Seperate my Doses to Ensure GABAPentin does not Weaken my Benzo. For Example I took Clonazepam Orally and 45 Minutes later I Ate some GABAPentin and now I am Worried it might of Weakened the Benzo Effects somewhat possibly.
 
Dude just sublingual the benzos next time like suggested 8), I'm not sure but I think an hour or two should be a sufficient waiting period. Kpins taste like mints anyways, delicious!
 
Too much lyrica or gabapentin at once gives me a dirty disorientating buzz that irritates and wanna crawl outta my skin esp when I talk. Neurontin 1600mg is my max at once . Lyrica 75mg is perfect anything more is un comfortable
