to start with i've lurked these forums for a while and have been absolutely amazed with some of the brilliant discussions, courtesy, and knowledge I've obtained from doing so, this is truly a great site.

as to my concern, i'm legally prescribed gabapentin and take it in large doses to maintain therapuetic benefits. To anyone who says you can't have fun with gabapentin is just being a pessimist, I can account to a handful of people who absolutely love the effects of large doses of this drug. saying you can't get high from it is like saying benzo's are useless, but they are absolute bliss to someone who is plagued by anxiety, meanwhile someone who never has anxiety might consider them completely useless, it's purely objective.

sorry for the ramble but my main question is after prolonged use of gabapentin the effects seem to completely diminish to absolutely nothing, i've tried taking a break for a week or two but with unsuccesful results, does anyone have any personal experience as to how long one would cease taking gabapentin in order to feel like they did when they first started taking it?

I was using alot of gabapentin for a while, and tolerance increases pretty quickly, especially when you abuse it, and you're right, after a few weeks or so you don't seem to get the same desirable effects.

It actually took me about two months of not using gabapentin to get back to the point where I felt anything approaching enjoyability when trying it again.
