Gabapentin and Hypnotic cross tolerance?

Im wondering if gabapentin has any cross tolerances, specifically with hypnotics like zolpidem or eszopiclone. Ive read they act on the same receptors (GABA I)
Id also like to know if you know of any cross tolerances aside from pregabalin just for the sake of knowing.

No, gabapentin doesn't have any cross tolerance with the z-drugs (eszopiclone, zolpidem, etc). But it probably does have cross tolerance with pregabalin.

Thanks. I was wondering because i took 3 grams and didnt feel anything. Is that normal?

3 grams of gabapentin? Whoa! Well first of all, no it's really not normal but if you have such a high tolerance then it may be normal for you. That is a dangerously high dose that no one should take. It's obvious 'Ignant' has an extremely high tolerance to these drugs and so 3 grams didn't even work.

All I can tell you is to slowly lower your dose overtime and then stop taking them for a while, that will help you reduce your tolerance.

Just as a note I read someone took around 40 grams and lived...
And it was my first time taking gabapentin. Ive never taken lyrica.

Also are there any methods of potentiating gabapentin?

Take them in divided doses, like a thousand mgs an hour for three hours rather than all at once. It doesn't absorb very well. Naproxyn (aleve) is supposed to potentiate gabapentin, although I noticed no difference. Three grams would seem to me about the right recreational dose, it certainly isn't dangerous, at least not unless combined with other drugs. I've done 5 grams many times, and my ex used to take 50 grams with no ill affects beyond being retarded for a day.
