Hello everyone,

This is my first post here so be gentle with me. A freind of mine is currently taking a prescribed dose of Gabapentin at 2400mg per day for damaged nerves in his shoulder. He tells me that since he has been taking this med (about 6 months) he hasn't really been feeling any significant effects from any other substances that he has had. He has read that Gabapentin is used to treat cravings/withdrawal from various different opiates/recreational drugs and was wondering if the Gabapentin was somehow blocking the other substances that he has tried. He has aquired some 6-APB in the form of Benzo Fury pellets and was wondering if the Gabapentin would have any negative effects when mixed with this RC. He is frustrated because he cannot stop taking the Gabapentin but also feels as though he is wasting his time and money taking anything whilst on it. Has anyone had any experiences with this combination or have any further infromation on any possible reactions between the two?

Thanks

Firstly I would like to say welcome to Bluelight!

It is hard to say what mixing the two would have. I have experience of Gabapentin but not 6-APB. It may counteract anyjitteryness from the 6-APB, but there may be unknown interaction between the two. Therefore I would start with a low dose of the 6-APB and work your way up. When I get Gabapentin in doses over 3000 mg I get a real buzz, some stimulation, along with relaxation and a strong euphoria.

Regards

Hello King Hop Head,

Thanks for the warm welcome and quick reply! If the Gabapentin did prevent any jitteryness that would be usefull in its self for my freind because he has been known to get anxious when taking certain substances. Its the unknown interaction that worries him abit. How have you felt when you have had alcohol with Gabapentin? he reports a woosy, nauseas type feeling - not at all pleasant and even sharp pains in his head with a horrible hangover the day after even after very low amounts of alcohol. My friend is also very sensitive to any substance, it takes very little to get him "there"

Regards

I doubt there will be any major contraindications with these drugs. However the pharmacodynamics of RC's like 6-apb are not really known yet. 6-apb seems to work via similar mehanisms as MDMA and some 2C-x drugs, primarily at 5-HTx receptors.

However 2400mg a day is a large dose, and since the exact mechanism of action is not really known yet I would advise aginst this combination. People have reported seizures when combing its stronger counterpart pregabalin with stimulants in large doses.

If you are going to try start at threshold doses and work up slowly over a few days.

Haven't tried 6-APB, but I've used pregabalin at both low and high doses, and have more than 20 years experience with stims and MDXX's. I have to say, given the very mixed reports on 6-APB, the likelihood that every batch differs in terms of purity and the competance of its makers, which might be reflected in toxic impurities, that mixing it - or any stimulant - with high dose gabapentin or pregabalin sounds like a very, very, bad idea. You'd be nuking pretty much every receptor site governing emotion, body temperature, adrenalin/energy levels, all of which have profound implications for respiration. Gabapentin and pregabalin alone seem to be fairly safe in high doses: I've mixed low doses with benzos (downs, not benzo fury), when tapering from the latter and lowering doses (but I have a very high tolerance). But giving your adrenal glands sharp and contrasting signals at the same time by mixing the 'gabbers with a stim doesn't sound safe, especially not for someone who's generally sensitive to low doses, and especially not with something from the grey or black markets, purity unknown. And from reading around, a good portion of what's sold as 6-ABP is a cocktail of cathinones, MDPV and God knows what. Just my two cents, but I'd steer your friend away from this idea. If mixing gabas and booze has him puking, pushing it with stimulants strikes me as likely to have him at best having a bad time on the 6-APB, and possibly dangerous.

I recently started taking gabapentin for severe nerve damage as well, I have definitely noticed that neither my opiate medications, nor my benzodiazapines are working anymore. It's actually kind of a relief to see that someone else is dealing with this. It hasn't been easy to find anything online saying definitively that this is a common issue, vs. is it just me.

Since I know that my opiate pain medication will make me more comfortable than the gabapentin, I'm inclined to just stop taking it. It does me more damage than good since I have panic attacks that require my benzos to work when I need them. In my experience, it doesn't just weaken the effects of the other drugs, but actually makes them have zero effect at all. I've just been taking it for about 5 weeks, 300mg x3/Day and noticed that my other meds weren't effective anymore after about 3-4 weeks…

I was on 3600mg gabapentin. In my experience, it muddies up the high of everything but is quite benign when it comes to drug interactions. It doesn't interfere with most drugs in a way that's bad for you, it just ruins the high from everything. 2 years now and I still suffer withdrawal from quitting this shit medicine. It just never ends and I hate these pills with all my heart.
