Misc Gabapentin and Benso's(cross tolerance and some questions)

Well I've been taking both of these regulary now and was just wondering if they have a cross tolerance or say if you use Gaba to take a break from benzo's will that cause w/d from taking the Gaba for a few days??? Today I've had quite a bit of both. I had 1500mg of Gaba and 8mg of Sub this morning(anyone find Gaba makes you waaay socialble and works WONDERS for anxiety?? Almost more than benzo's.) Had another 900mg of Gaba after work 6mg of Xanax a few hours laters anonther 600mg of Gaba after I fell asleep for a little bit then 30mg of valium with another 600mg of Gaba...anyway that was my dosage for today, waay more than usual. But what just wondering if these had a cross tolerance or if you stop benzo's and just start gaba will you avoid w/d's if you have any?? Plan on asking my Sub doc for this Gabapentin for anxiety at my next appointment if i'm not kicked out of the program...
 
Well benzo work on one of the GABA receptors directly, while gabapentin doesn't actually bind to a receptor directly. So theoretically, if you stopped taking the benzo you shouldn still have W/Ds. However, its hard to say with certainty when it comes to gabapentin.

Yes, gabapentin does have great anxiety relieving properties.

Also you are taking too many, or rather great quantaties of CNS depressants so becareful and certainly dont add more to the mix like alcohol.

Ya, I have been overdoing it with gaba related drugs for the past few months...taking a break, have some benzo's put asiede for emergencies in case I have reached the point to get to seziures, although I REALLY don't think I have... And a TINY bit of alchohol was consumed last night(like 3 ounces of Red Wine, dumb, again), but was fine(anyone else don't do this though!!! I shouldn't have even done that but all the Gaba drugs lowered my judgement I guese, normally don't even drink, luckily my jugdement wasn't lowered enough to consume more, as the 3 ounces of wine made all the other quite stronger, so I knew not to go further with that.) Oddly though, the wine seem to keep me up...was up until like 6 in the morning....
