I'd always been curious about the classical "downers" and now that I have carisoprodol, butalbital, and what was probably an IV barbiturate before a surgery under my belt, I'm even more intrigued by them. They haven't been phased out for no reason though. They can be very problematic. … And yet their effects are so smooth …
