He asked me if I had ever heard of BTS, and I said no. He told me they were a bunch of people who beat up ravers and break into cars. "they suck!!!" was his exact phrasing, if I remember correctly.

It wasn't until the following January that I heard the term again. I had gone down to Connecticut for my friend's 20th birthday party, and someone called one of his friends asking for directions to the place. After he got off the phone, he was asked who the caller was, to the response of "I don't know." Someone said, "I'll bet you just gave BTS directions to the party, you goober."

I asked what BTS was, remembering the discussion with my high school friend, and they were in fact the same people.

Over the next several months, I put myself on the discussion mailing list for my friend's NYC raver tribe-thingy, and there were several mentions of bad things for which the BTS responsible. By June, an illegal party under the George Washington Bridge had ended with the stabbing of a partygoer by a suspected BTS member. Eventually, a group called BTSwatch was created to disseminate pictures of alleged members.

In June 2001, the group was supposedly dissolved by federal authorities. This is from USA Today (http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2001-05-16-ecstasy-usat.htm): "In June, Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Customs agents in New York dismantled a gang that traveled from rave to rave, shaking down suburban kids who were high on Ecstasy. The gang, which called itself the Brooklyn Terror Squad, or BTS, 'terrorized rave parties throughout the Eastern seaboard and in Florida,' says Linda Lacewell, an assistant U.S. attorney in New York. The gang beat up and robbed ravers, stole their drugs and then resold them at the same parties, she says. Ten gang members have pleaded guilty to various drug charges and are awaiting sentencing.

NYC Warehouse Parties

I've been told about some crazy warehouse parties in brooklyn and would love to go to one, but there are so many from which to choose that I don't know where to start! give me some recs that are under21 friendly, please!

dude, i'm from austin - went to the first two massive intent parties, although i hate that crew for various reasons. don't hold out hopes for any parties anything like what they have going on in texas - the texas scene is alive, well, and booming. i've been to one party in nyc and i was totally unimpressed. big ups to another texan! =D
 
Hey i'm going to be comming to NY, I know there's a ton of stuff to do.

But does anyone from the east coast have any advice, on maybe fun things to do? What should I look out for? Also what's the NY drug scene like?:?

What are some things I shouldn't leave NY without doing? Any super interesting stuff that you gotta see when you go to NY let me know. Just generally cool shit.

I'm going around september 15th. So far the only thing i've come up with is walking around time square, and seeing where I end up. Besides that I dont have a clue what to do, or where to go.
 
damn, just typed out a whole reply and it got deleted. the jist:

- If you like art, there is tons to see in NY. If you'd rather not pay a ton to go to a museum, check out an area in Chelsea, all the way on the west side between 20th-30th or so where there are a lot of galleries. There's a night every week I think where MOMA is free too

- Times Square sucks. For just wandering I'd recommend starting at Union Square and heading downtown through the east village, lots of cool stuff around there

- There are good drugs in New York. They are expensive and you have to know people, but there are lots of them. Exploring the city on acid is great
 
Get some sushi. There are some cool places there, but obviously best with a group of ppl. 1st ave between E 19th n 20th is a good place called Hane, and on 23rd is Samba or something. I'm not even into sushi, but loved it when I got it recently. Alot of ppl are all about NYC sushi.

1st or 2nd weeks of october there is "irish fest" in Long Beach (its literally a long beach just south of queens that you can take a train to) which is a huge drunken festival. Music, tons of bars, street vendors with all kinds of food, plus the beach.

I guess I would throw in the Museaum on natural history. Went there when I was young, but I think I recall a pretty cool planetarium show.

The bronx or brooklyn botancial garden are cool. Been to the brooklyn one. It will be autumn when you are around so changing colors is cool.

I don't have a specific pizza place for you to goto, I only had usual places in brooklyn but owners changed, but def ask others for suggestions.

Goto a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden.

Goto the yankee parade after they win the world series again.
 
We also have good clubs and good drugs... might wanna check that out since you'll be in town anyways.

Check threads on here on the NY rave scene, good NY clubs to roll in, etc.
And if you are willing to head into shady parts of the city, you will be sure to find some bomb ass sour diesel, rolls - both good and bad, coke - also good and bad, and some of that sweet ass dope.
 
electric zoo...too bad i cant find anything good around, hopefully that will change by sat.
 
NYC has plenty to do.
To the point of almost not having to ask.

Lots of museums, central park, bronx zoo, brooklyn botanical gardens (free on tuesdays), clubs, lots of very good restaurants, broadway plays, concerts.

let's not forget the perennials: statue of liberty and now ellis island . homeland security probably has taken a lot of fun out of them now .
 
NYC / Chicago Clubs

Hello everyone!
I'm going to be visiting both New York and Chicago on holiday and planning on going clubbing in both cities. I'm travelling over from the UK and can't wait to try out clubbing US style :-)

Anyway was wondering if it's usually possible to get a hold of good MDMA pills in nightclubs, or would I be wasting my time looking?

Any help appreciated.
