From the day I was born I started constructing the life I chose to live. Religion was a huge distraction from reality that took me most of my life to figure out for myself. Now a new realization; everyone perceives their world differently from each other even though we are all humans, the events and experiences of one from another differ greatly even if the same event replicated itself to a dozen people each person would walk away with a different perspective of the event.
What I'm about say would be construed as heresy, however, god is not the creator, you are the creator of how you understand the world. god did not create you, you created god from what you learned from outside sources. God did not come to you, you came to god because you thought that was the thing to do.
You have been in control of your life all along, you just didn't realize how strong your mind is so you enlisted the help of a supernatural being to show you the way. The problem with this is you are not Jesus or god so how do you expect to live according to their teachings when you are perfectly capable of making your own decisions about your life.
So what if you make a bad decision, get to know who you truly are and forgive yourself for screwing up, it happens. Be kind to yourself and here is a biggie learn to love the person you are at this very moment and repeat, repeat, repeat.
Soon you will develop a need to share your new found love of self with others in healthy manner. Many of our problems come from how we perceive the world and the roles we choose to live in. Accountability is key to understanding ourselves and the actions of people we choose to be like. Your friends are a reflection of who you are or want to be. Take inventory of your friends and associate, are you just another carbon copy of yourself or do you stand out as the person in control of life?
