From Heroin to Meth we go!

Anyone every make the switch from opiates to amps? For the longest time I've always self-medicated with downers. Primarily heroin. It got rid of my ADD, my anxiety, my social shyness..and worst of all my depression(well, obviously didn't rid of it, just made me not care or forget about it)

I've been an opi-head for somewhere around 5 years now. I;ve always, always, used them to forget about my life. The only time I ever used amps like coke and meth were to just have a good time. Maybe go on a coke binder with some friends..maybe smoke some tweak and hit the bar. Never really used it to self-medi. I can honestly say I've never been addicted to coke or meth either.

Anyways, the past month my addicted has changed..which I never thought possible (figured if anything id find a new downer) now all I car about is having an opiate to stay well. Don't give two shits about a rush or a nod. Don't care about even getting high, just simply well. But I always try and have a bag of tweak on me now..I fiend for it if I don't have it now. I;ll be dope sick and be like okay...gotta get like 30-40 bucks...ill get 1 bag of dope then get the rest in tweak!

Anyone else had their addiction just change after 5 years of hardcore use?

YYea but I went back to opiates after meth wreaked its havoc on me (skinny, picked my skin apart, didn't care about appearance) I went back to h because I'm much more productive and sane on opiates. Meth made me looney after awhile also, although I kinds miss it. I liked the craziness of being up for a week it was almost like being awake for a week was the high I loved and strived for. But its hard to maintain a normal life on meth. Plus my veins were going to crap and its hard to shoot meth with shitty veins.

Trading one hardcore addiction for another, imo, if you are abusing the meth; taking more than 10+ mg d-meth any other ROA than oral is abuse. You are "self medicating" while high, but remember for every high there's an equal low. You are setting yourself up for failure, check out the Amp Quitting thread in TDS, turned me off from ever trying to get high off of amphetamines.


Amphetamine and meth are fantastic medications at low oral doses for a small amount of the population, but such destructive substances when abused or used recreationally, watch your ass, man.

To each his own, but amps seem more concrete to me, in that they give focus and energy to "do" not just "be" like opiates. Don't get me wrong, getting lost in your head, and relaxing to the fullest is great, but life keeps moving, and I like to keep up. Basically I would never switch from stims, to opiates.
