From codeine to oxy

I've recently been using codeine, doses as high as 600mg and now i've got the opportunity to buy 20mg oxy's. My question is will it be a waste of time taking the oxy considering my codeine tolerance? The oxy's are also twice the price as the codeine. What do you guys think?

I used to do about 800mg and float on air. I thought that my tolerance to opiates was high. One day my mate had a knee operation and was prescribed 5mg oxycodone, and he gave me ONE pill.

I took the pill when I was bored one afternoon (and had no codeine) expecting basically nothing. What I got was a relaxed opiate high lol. I was very surprised and that is when I realized how weak Codeine really is. 5mg of oxy and it felt like at least 200mg of Codeine for me. Your tolerance to opiates is not as high as you think if all you use it Codeine.

Chart I looked at puts 200mg of codeine equal to 20mgs of oxy. That seems a bit too small, oxy is pretty strong, and that would mean I could get high on 1100-1400mg of codeine which I doubt it.

But, you should probably just stick with the easily obtainable (I reckon, in London, right?) codeine, and taper off.

My advice: Stop while you're ahead, before you move to the next stepping stone towards dope.

Yeah I woulda guessed closer to 5-10mg of oxy to 200mg instead of 20 I read. I never liked codeine at all, the one time I took it was the only time itching was PAINFUL and it was probably about 600mg, and I mean really fucking painful. I was running for benadryl in like a second flat. This was 6 years ago.

Codeine's effect varies from person to person, based on what type of CYP2D6 polymorph you have in your liver. I get basically nothing from codeine other than severe stomach pain, like someone was squeezing it in a vice. Look at a couple of opioid conversion charts to get an idea of how much oxy is equivalent to 600 mg codeine, but start on the low end because there is incomplete cross-tolerance between opioids. You can get a zillion opinions here on which is better but you're basically just going to have to try it. The proof is in the pudding.

There won't be a direct conversion formula for doses of codeine to oxycodone because codeine is wild known to be unpredictable.

Diet
Other drugs
Ethnicity
Liver health

Oxy is the best. Oxy was the 1st drug I touched in grade 9 and I still touch it 2 years later if I were you I would go with the oxy.. I like to chrush them up and mix it with my weed and do bong tokes!

If you're abusing it, which I assume you are this might be a time for you to taper and lower your tolerance.

I dunno why I didn't mention it before, but you live where codeine is OTC if I remember correctly, oxycodone is not. Your ability to buy codeine is pretty extensive, you won't go far using oxy until the dose of codeine you take now only makes the withdrawals slightly better.

That's horrible advice & a waste of perfectly good oxycodone.

They probably also freebase their coke so they can shoot it, and can't get enough of those triple Cs. Drugs can be stupid and harmful, or deadly - usually both (with a few exceptions).

To all you younger people in high school, blazing your unique path.


You should read about some of the people who have started using such drugs so early. First time they get a little more personal freedom (Job/Car) shit usually goes south really quick, especially if you approach such powerful substances so casually.

I was 18 or 19 when I first tried oxycodone. I don't wish that I had not touched it at all, but I wish I knew where that path led, and if it had been traversed with some care, and a lot more self control, it would be a little less bumpy.


It's one of those things that is constantly rehashed on this forum by people who wish they had either been warned, or listened more carefully if they had gotten a warning. Drugs which make you feel good dole out equal or greater quantities of pain when not treated with the utmost respect and understanding; even then you can be in over your head before you even knew your were wet. This applies more to opioids (oxy is an opioid) and gabaergics (benzodiazepines - bars / xanax).

I knew two people who started hard drug use at an earlier age (13-14). I knew him very well - He died at 20 years old, alone.

The other person I knew who used hard drugs early on at 12 years old, (I met him when I was 19 and he was in his late 20's. My friend's girlfriend was his wife's sister.) his cousin, first prize winner in the horrible piece of shit contest introduced him to IV heroin. When I met him when I was 19 probably about 15 years later. He had a major compound fracture, got put oxycodone. I don't know if he was running out early/testing positive for H, or they merely tapered him off. His beautiful younger wife, (had just had their first kid) found his cold body with needle in arm and everything. I wasn't exceedingly close to him, but he was a good person guided down a bad path, his wife was beautiful and extremely sweet. I think of them often and a child with one less father.


Your post is kinda antithetical to the idea of this forum. I hope I'm not feeding a troll.
