A friend told me a story of how he licked a tray of LSD crystals and took maybe hundreds of hits in one go - probably many mg of LSD. He said he was tripping balls before he even finished the lick. Not sure if he said he blacked out, but he did have to move back in with his parents to renormalize and it took him weeks or a couple months to fully come back down to earth - hard to say how much of that was pharmaceutical and how much of that would have been psychological aftershocks. Anyways, he was a nice, happy, and healthy person when I met him, a real quirky personality but you probably have to be a bit quirky and have some balls in the first place to decide to lick a tray of LSD crystals.
LSD is astonishingly safe in the physical sense - of course people can get themselves into mental trouble on it with much smaller doses.
