My brother's fiance has a lot of cop friends and they even live with a state police officer. They get out of so much shit because of that. Yet cops from where they live are so corrupt... I even drank with a couple of their cop friends and I was only just turning 17. One cop from the same area had to drive me to my cousin's since there was an issue at the place I was staying... He was going over the line on the highway because he was texting and then he blew through red lights because no one was around. I have no friends who are cops however. My friend who I use with wants to be a cop and then a criminologist though... I wonder how that will workout lol.

I have one friend who just got his CJ degree with the aim of becoming a state trooper, and another friend who's an officer in the military (both 24 yo).
Friend #1 is a pot smoker who just wants stable work for a living. Friend #2 is one of the most open-minded people you could ever meet, funnily enough. They may be exceptions to the rule... stereotypes are based on truths, yet it's still wrong to generalize.
OP, I would talk to your friend about his true opinions on these issues that are at hand. If he's just going through the motions to get a good job, I wouldn't blame him for separating himself temporarily.

I don't mind cops either way, but I'd rather not interact with them. I am grateful cops exist because if I'm getting robbed/murdered, who the fuck else can I call to come rescue me? So in that respect, cops are cool. But otherwise, if I didn't call them and don't want their "services", they can stay the fuck away from me.
I mean no disrespect by this, but in those situations, it would seem difficult to call 911. Not trying to get into strung out hypothetical situations but I think it'd be more useful to learn to defend oneself before trying to run away making a phone call.

ive only ever befriended / known people to befriend cops , simply to play them , and they try to do the same in return , so u always gotta watch urself with them and shit , they can never really be 'friends' just aquaintances , in general i fucking hate pigs , power tripping motherfuckers .

There are plenty of cops who aren't douchebags, and 99% of them aren't "power-tripping", they are just doing their job. Their jobs would be unbearable if they didn't have any authority, and futile if they'd let everyone off the hook.
It's been my experience that alot of them leave drug-users alone. Dealers are the ones they want to catch. Maybe that's different in every country, I heard alot about how strict they are in the US and alot of other countries.
OT: I think it shouldn't matter if he becomes a cop or not. He is your friend, just don't use drugs in front of him like you said.
If he does happen to come across you when you're toking some weed, show him you don't choose using drugs over his company. Then your friendship can last for sure.
