well nobody replied to my previous thread, and my friend's now in hospital. i was not there at the time. he had been having a headache for about 6 hours after ingesting an oral dose of amphetamine sulphate (a normally unharmful dose despite the difference in people), then he started to throw up repeatedly and get dizzy. he lay with these effects for a couple more hours before he started getting short of breath and his heart started hammering.
at this point my friend called an ambulance.

this is my question, why did he react so badly to it when me and my friend had stuff from the same batch? he has taken amphetamines before and has had no ill effects. i was not there but from the description of the symptoms i would have personally waited to see if they had developed before ringing the ambulance, as i believe he was just having a bit of a bad time, rather than a medical emergency. opinions?

Perhaps the dose was too high, and the conditions of his cardiovascular system were such that his blood pressure was higher than everyone elses.

Or some kind of aneurysm or something, hopefully not.

sometimes peoples heart just busts or have a fatal stroke while ding any stimulant, i've seen it. my friend used to smoke alot of crack, later that night when he fell asleep he died..some 40yr old i know took diet pills died in her sleep, so anyhting can happen!

No fvcking doubt. Incredibly fit atheletes have been known to just drop dead, kids in high school etc. You never know, you can have a brain anurism like Elvis while sitting on the shitter. Probably a good idea to stick around when a friend is starting to think something isn't right. Sucks that happened to him. Whether or not he may have been able to tough it out, he was freaking enough to call an ambulance. Some scary shit.

My mom likes to watch the autopsy lady show "Dr G." She said that cocaine and amphetamines can cause a dangerous heart arythmia (sp?) I'm scared to even take phentermine now because I've got a heart murmur.

Stay far away from amps, cocaine & such if you have heart problems, & sorry to hear about your heart problem.

Len Bias was a basketball super star & died of a heart attack after doing cocaine while celebrating after finding out he got selected by the Celtics back in the 80's. The kid had some serious basketball talent but I believe he had some kind of heart problem that was not detected before, if im not mistaken.

it can happen to ANYONE, healthy as an Ox or not..just drop dead after a hit of crack, dose of speed, etc...i had a few times where i thought my heart was going to bust after a few hits of crack, one time i took a hit at red light in my car, i literaly told my girl i thought i was going to have a heart attack and die and jumped out of the car, laid on the grass, felt chest pain, tingling on my left side, i got up slowly and seen an ambulance at a gas station, walked slowly, and got over it..scary moments

Hopefully your friend is OK. I think he should steer clear from amphetamines//uppers. I haven't read the last post but this doesn't sound good ?

I've never taken an amphetamine like pure speed... i've taken adderal and shit like that before...

i'm wondering why these "unexplained deaths" don't happen much in people who take really speedy bombs?? i don't know, just a thought. either way... no good =/

ok. he has now suffered a heart attack whilst in hospital :S that surprised me. he survived and is now recovering. my friend is in a rage with our dealer because the paramedics spouted all the usual rubbish about them finding ''brick dust, LSD, heroin and rat poison'' in it. she does not seem to understand that dealers buy/sell what they are given by the next level up, sometimes (or even normally) regardless of what is already in it. also that no dealer wants to kill a customer or make them ill. they'd be boycotted. also she doesnt realise that it makes absolutly no sense for a dealer to put in substances that are more expensive than the drug itself :S

i rang my dealer and he said he thinks that it may have been a combination of dehydration and low blood sugar from not eating properly recently (i dont know if my friend had been eating properly). can anyone explain/confirm?

It's difficult to say. Your friend may have a previously unknown/undiagnosed heart or cardiovascular condition (this is my best guess right here). Or he may have taken too high a dose of amphetamine. Or he may have combined the amphetamine with other stimulants or MAOIs (which is very dangerous). Or it might have been what your dealer said (although I doubt it). I think your friend is going to need to have lots of tests done to rule out any underlying conditions first.

i do not know his sensitivity but it wasn't an overly large dose. also he is a very experience ex-heavy user of mephedrone. 4g of that in a night = no problems. would not these things have arisen with a chemical that is so similar?

he was on no MAOIs or other drugs so i guess the assumption is that it was an overdose :\ or possibly a condition

He very possibly could have done some damage to his heart doing that much mephedrone. Nevertheless I hope he comes out of all this fine. Let us know how it goes..

he did have a paniccy moment apparently, inability to breathe, worry, etc. and i agree that mephedrone could have done damage to his heart. do you think it could have waiting to become apparent until now? i have done mephedrone in equal amounts (though not frequently) and in small amounts (3g a week) regularly for several months, and i did up to two grams of this base in a day and was fine. different people i guess. and i know excessive use of mephedrone can lead to anxiety problems later
