Hello usually im.just an avid google amd reader on here but I'm presented with an issue. I have chronic back pain and a pinch nerve I take percocet but was recently switched to hydrocodone but do not like the way theu work or don't so I am going back to percs my Dr said I can come in and s heduke a disposal of the remainder of my hydros that I should have for the month (but I dont) help! !#! What should I do?! They will test anything I bring in right?!

Hi Babesintoyland,

Great band by the way. Welcome to BL!
I would be honest with your doctor you have taken all the hydro's and see what he/she says. I personally would not bring in a falsified bottle of pills. You may lose your doctor's trust. If you find yourself without meds in the interim and experience withdrawals this The Opioid Withdrawal Megathread and FAQ might be of help. There is also a pain management thread on the site.

Best,
Smoky :)

Babes not planning on destroying them? It seems he/she has already taken them all and none are left.

Smoky is right, the best option is to tell your Dr. They weren't working and you were in extreme pain and had taken more than you realized, hence the reason you want to switch back. This is much better than bringing in anything other than your actual medication...he is a Doctor. He won't need to test the pills to know what they are/are not.

The only other option is buying them on the streets but this can be expensive/hard to find/illegal.

Extremely expensive.. and certainly not something you want to have in your pocket or car if you get pulled over by the cops.
Ive seen a lot of people start out with buying the pills on the street then switching to Heroin just because its cheaper and readily available.
Its a dangerous game. Best to do things legit. Especially if you really need them.

Right. I wasn't telling him to buy it for consumption. Or buy at all in general. Those were the pills he didn't like and had to bring back to his doctor but already consumed them all.

Thank you all for the responses!!! I just get so worried now a days with the drs and how strict the rules are in ny. I'm a 27 yr old girl with a full time job and don't have a history of miss using the pills or anything but I do have a tendency of taking more then prescribed . But I am prescribed so little I feel and have expressed that. But I also don't take ownership and don't exercise my back as much as I should. Eeekkkk.

I feel ya on that! The hardest part with exercising is actually getting started. Once you're able to motivate yourself and start to build muscle your back will start feeling a lot better.

I know you're scared to tell your doc..and there's no gaurentee how the Dr. Will react either but it's better if you seem open, honest and upfront..he will be less likely to assume you're just a "drug seeker".

Are you a candidate for physical therapy? Perhaps if he/she saw you take initiative it will help with finding the exact dosage that will make you both happy. Although I understand circumstances don't always allow this as it can be very expensive etc.

Good luck and welcome!
