French Elections Called: LePen vs Macron

^ a lot of people clearly bought into his campaign promises about change and awesome deal-making and draining the swamp, etc.

change? not so much.

I'll judge the guy after he did at least half his time. Rome wasn't built in one day.
Still better choice than Hillary.

sure, that's fair. but the signs aren't great. are you optimistic about what's to come based on his performance so far? he's 100 days in and he doesn't have a single significant legislative success under his belt.

how do you feel about the fact that he constantly eviscerated obama for using executive orders and then he gets in to office and signs more executive orders in his first hundred days than any president in the past 70 years?

or the fact that he constantly criticised obama for taking time off? he's taken a lot of time off.

or the fact that he said he'd never leave the white house? and he's always leaving the white house.

or the fact that he constantly criticised obama for travel expense? and he's spending millions more.

etc.

are you comfortable with that level of hypocrisy?

Still better choice than Hillary.
we'll never know.

That depends on how much of his promises he's fulfilling. Those executive orders had to do something.
Also how is he spending millions more if he took the office 3 months ago.

so you agree his vocal criticism of obama for using executive orders was unwarranted?

Also how is he spending millions more if he took the office 3 months ago.
Trump is on track to spend more on travel this year than Obama did in 8

Donald Trump is well on his way to spending more on travel in a year than Obama did during his eight years as president.

Citing a 2016 Government Accountability Office report, CNN found that President Barack Obama's four-day trip to Florida in 2013 added up to $3.6 million in Secret Service and Coast Guard costs.

While the cost of individual trips may vary, the news outlet estimated that the six weekends (21 days, in total) Trump has spent at his Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida since becoming president added up to roughly $21.6 million.

for me, the fact that he's doing these things is bad enough. but he aggressively criticised for exactly the same behavior and now he's doing the same. except worse.

he's an astonishing hypocrite.

I neither agree or disagree, I haven't followed US political scene that close to know every order he signed, I'm busy with the mess in my own back yard which is Europe.

Ok so he's on his way, but he's far from being it a year, so if he slows down he might not live up to the expectations. I'm taking criticism thrown his way with a grain of salt considering the public outcry to his win.

And from what I heard he's getting a sweet coal deal with China, and shows ISIS that size matters with the MOAB.

Trump says a lot that irks me ala. I more often than not wish he would stfu and just do his job and avoid twitter and saying awful things. But my preference is to focus on the results of policy and not his asinine words because...that is my preference....and the stupid things he says is really not all that important to me as the actual state of the union. And I sure am friggin happy with the growth of my meager stock investments. Did you see the stock market today!

If you want me to criticize him.....I can. I am not convinced the wall is worth it; while I found everify an abominable notion in 2004, now I think it (along with full enforcement of the laws on the book) will do a lot to stop illegal immigration. But....not convinced either way tbph.

There is more but...it is my preference to focus on the results of his actions and policy atm....not his big mouth. I know Im not president but to be fair I say a lot of things in this very forum I regret. Honestly, the fact he is an crass non-politician is a big attraction to me. Thats how I feel, Ive grown very weary of slick politicians.

I didnt fully turn on Obama until 2011 so give it time, there is still many days to come. Ill turn on him when and if the time comes.

from today: President Trump brags about getting highest ratings since 9/11 coverage

do you defend that? do you think that's not worthy of criticism?

the same criticism can be applied to many who lean right, including some who post here.

i lean left and i absolutely concede the possibility that my political ideology may be flawed when applied to reality.

so i guess you're just demonstrably wrong?

Didnt say you did...you were not in mind when I posted that.
As much as I want your respect and approval (and I do, I just do), you certainly am not the only soul I focus on here.

Still, <3 and hope one day I can get your respect back.
can you post a link to a post where i've said either of those things?

he's been in office for about 100 days and has absolutely no major legislative accomplishments. he heavily criticised his predecessor for using executive orders to take action yet he's signed 32 orders in his first 100 days - more than any president since ww2. trump told us all he was a bigly deal maker who wouldn't need to rely on this tool for the weak...

from a town hall in sc, february 2016:

just more blatant hypocrisy.

you can't discuss or criticise his administration without discussing or criticising him because of the way he's choosing to govern.

Wait...wtf...this thread is about France. Im asking everyone to stay on topic here....mod's orders. Dont make me have to go next door to the neighbors PC to do some modding...which I cannot seem to grasp on the kindle.

Ala...where do I brush up on the functions of being a moderator....and do I have those options on a tablet? Maybe PM me if you can recommend anything.

Please don't mod me mgs but if you switch to desktop mode, you'll find great powers at your disposal. :) I struggle to mod using mobile access too.

Anyway, France!

Fair...just worked out that way...wasnt referencing you though so my bad... that I quoted you and then called you out for calling me out. Egg on my face for sure.

France...I wish I had some input but Im just now learning about their politics.
I read that the cities essentially control all the politics since they do not have a brilliant system like our state's electoral college. Country folk have little say and little voice.

Allah blesses the USA!
you quoted me in your message which is usually an indication that the comment is a response to me, not a more general reply.

The refugee crisis could have been handled better if the separate countries had the ability to take in what refugees they had screened and cleared as genuine refugees and not had groups going freely between countries they themselves wanted to go to. Its never been that way. Refugees are designated a country to reside in from the first safe port of call usually. The open border allowed this free movement of people who already had made it to a safe country .

I am all for taking in refugees totally but it has to be the countries choice and responsibility to their own people.

The way the crisis happened spread fear and was so disorganised and stupid. The German chancellor and head of the EU should have handled it better but did nothing.

For leaving the EU, I would say there's a danger period of 2 - 5 years for that. Afterwards, the EU will see the bad deal that the UK gets. (The UK is going to get a bad deal regardless, even if the pro-EU side doesn't get their way, severing the ties will hurt the UK.)

it's a simple enough issue - odd that you'd sit on the fence.

I don't know enough about what he did with those orders to choose on which side of the fence I sit.

How do we screen them ? Not like they need to sign legal documents when joining ISIS and becoming sleeper agents.

And there lies the problem, EU desperately tries to force its member countries to take the refugees in, and when they say no like Poland or Hungary they get threaten with sanctions.

The German chancellor and head of EU should be removed from office long ago and tried for what they did. The lives lost due to all the terrorist hitching a ride with refugees are on them.

If you want to make an omelette you have to break some eggs. The more countries leave the less the deals and sanctions will matter. I just hope May isn’t stupid enough to actually kick out the EU national because that means EU will come on it hard. It won’t have a choice.

EU will more than likely collapse in a domino effect when Britain leaves.

ISIS arent sending refugee sleeper cells to the west.
When i say the anti-immigration mob are dishonest, this is what i'm referring to

Greece cyprus Spain Italy ireland are really struggling financially.
Immigration is a real problem too.
