Trying so hard to set myself free
from the ropes and the chains that I've tied around me.
Chasing freedom along an asymptote;
somehow I never can quite reach...
This ideal I so admire,
it eludes my grip with ease.

Thank you. I wrote it on a whim yesterday while reflecting on my addiction to heroin. It's also my first attempt at any sort of creative writing, so your comments are that much more meaningful.
