Opioids Free Tramadol -- Worth a Shot?

I got hold of some tramadol for free. I heard it's shit, especially since I've been using oxycodone almost exclusively for the past couple of months. However, I'm quick to sample anything.

What I need to know is whether there are any adverse side-effects I may experience from Tramadol considering I'm on the following medications (all taken before bedtime): 20mg olanzapine, 200mg Seroquel, 50mg Valdoxan. I also use diazepam a couple of days each weak, doses of about 50 mg. And I also abuse oxycodone about twice a week, doses of about 30mg. And once in a blue moon, when I can't get hold of oxy, I take about 400mg of codeine. So, are there any contradictions I should be aware of, considering the meds I'm on, before taking shitty Tramadol? Also, what dose of Tramadol is recommended for me, considering my tolerance to other opioids? One more question, I just took 35 mg of oxycodone 2 hours ago along with 30 mg of diazepam, so is it safe to take the Tramadol a few hours after such a dose?

Thanks guys :-)

I would wait another day for the Tramadol since your oxycodone is pretty much still active in your system.

Some people love tramadol, some find it useless, and some hate it. It all depends on your level of CYP2D6 enzymes. I would stagger your doses to increase levels of O-Des converted by your liver.

I love how people are quick to label tramadol "shitty" before trying it, although it is for most people. My first time taking tram, I was like, "oh this is weak as shit, lemme take 125mg." It rocked me the hell away, pupils pinned for 14 hours, nodding for 5, with an amazing serotonin high the first 2 hours. Definitely a ymmv type of drug.

I'm pretty sure I have CYP2D6 polymorphism, so 400mg tramadol would have seriously caused an overdose at my tolerance level at the time (kratom equivalence of 10-15mg a day at the time). For me, 50mg tram = about 15+mg hydrocodone.

^ Totally agreed, Tramadol is amazing for me

Could be risking serotonin syndrome and/or seizures from Tramadol + Olanzapine, not sure though.

I'd say no to be on the safe side until someone can confirm it is safe

Definitely not risking serotonin syndrome mixing olanzapine and tramadol. Olanzapine is an inverse agonist at serotonin receptors after all.

I started using Tramadol before other opiods so no tolerance at all. used to mix it with loads of k and it was excellent. these days i've been taking strong opiates so doubt it'd do much.

i know tramadol makes you prone to seizures so if you look up if any of your meds lower your seizure threshold i wouldn't risk it, because its quite week, you will have to take a large amount (300-400mg) if youre used to oxy... and for a person who takes NO meds that lower the seizure threshold 400mg is the maximum they can take without risking a seizure.. also some people (not many) have naturlly low seizure thresholds and there have been reports (not many) of seizures in doses under 400mg...

my advice, trade em for another opiate... or benzos or soma or sumn I recommend that mainly because tramadol is the shittiest opiate n my opinion... i would take codeine over tram annyday... that being said, some people lovee it and swear by it...

if you are going to take it, apparantkly the way to get the best buzz is to take 100mg and redose 50mg every half hour or sumn (i'm sure someone with more tram experience will share the techique to get the best high with the smallest amount of tram)

I have limited experience with opiates other than heroin, methadone, hydrocodone, and oxycodone, but IMO Tramadol is totally legit.

People tend to disagree, but I love the stuff. My nods with this stuff tend to incorporate lots of vivid, fun imagery in to the narcotic aspect.
I think you're good in terms of safeness, but I'd wait a little while for the oxy to wear down a little.
Assuming you're not trying to get well or anything.

I think you're safe from seretonin sydrome, although i can't give a wordy scientific sounding explanation as to why.
