Ok so I missed a bunch of times IVing crack. Its happend a million times normaly I get nasty abcess's most of the time they go away on there own. This time I dont knw what happend but they got ALOT worse. Like im sure its an infection but ive had pieces of skin just come out I suppose. theres lots of pus and im really worried about it. Im afraid to go to the hospital because there gonna say i need my arm amputated ( i hope im over reacting). Anyways I found some antibiotics and im taking those and taking real good care of my arm. If it dosent start gettgn better in two days im off to the hospital. Has this happend to anyone? Im really really freaking out. I know its not gangreen. Im just worried it could be serious. It dosent really hurt too much so I guess thats a good sign? and Im not running a fever or anything. So yeah please any information will help.

Go to the hospital. The antibiotics that you have are unlikely to treat your specific condition. There was a thread made here just the other day in which the OP needed various antibiotics to treat their condition from IV drug use.
Also I suggest reading the Case Studies thread so that you know some of the other dangers associated with IV use.
The longer you wait to go to the hospital, the greater the risk you are in of needing an amputation or worse. Please get this checked out asap. It's better to be worried and in the hospital now, rather than having one arm or dieing later.

Exactly. 2 days can be the difference between getting it sorted out properly, or never being able to give an applause again.

Dude.. go get this checked out... now. Or you may live to regret it. I know this is a harm reduction site and all, but I don't understand why you would come on here to ask this sort of question. If this has happened 'a million times' and this time seems to be a lot worse than usual, then you should know that you need medical treatment. As has been said those antibiotics won't do shit, you need specialist antibiotics.

Like others said, the sooner its treated properly, the better chance you have. If the dr says it needs to come off, if you wait, MORE would have to come off! Go immediately to the hospital, and do everything you can.
This might be one of those bottom-out moments where you need to reevaluate your use as well.

Dude you are just denying the inevitable. They are not going to amputate unless it's a last resort. Chances are when you decide it's too late it will already be too late.
Go to the hospital and get help.. the doctors will probably be interested in now fucked up you are anyway (no offense I am fucked up too).
And the chances of you taking the right antibiotic on your own is slim. Did you read that post about the dude who injected a pill and got an abcess. He had like a staff infection in his blood not to mention the abcess that was infected. Chances are your immune system just couldn't handle it thi time.. and alll the areas it was fighting bacteria or whatever off it has now failed. You need IV antibiotics and the right ones. You will be armless if you stay home.

At the ER waiting to be seen. The triage nurse said he dosent think ill lose my arm but I have a serious infection might have sepsis and said if I hadnt come in id probably would of died eventually. He also said im probably gonna have to have surgery and have skin grafts.

I'm glad you went. It seems like a lot of people are getting abscesses lately. Keep us posted. I'm glad your not losing your arm. They should take good care of you. BTW..... Don't touch the curtains. I hear they are never washed and full of germs. :O

Did you know that, if the diagnosis is indeed sepsis, that another two days and you would not have to worry 'bout NOTHING any more EVER? If that shit would have found a home in your heart it would have been grim, my friend, so grim.

This easy and simple act could save your life and/or hospital bills exceeding a milli. Now, as for the cut the slingers put in crack, I know of no harm reduction plan for that...

Is it worse to miss IVing crack than for instance dope?
Yes by far (if we are talking powdered dope thats easily water soluable and cotton filtered. I think it's almost a guaranteed abcess if you miss with crack. I actually know people who primarily IM the dope around here for a long time and never got an abscess.

Hi Empress, hope you are feeling okay. I am soooo glad that you decided to listen to us and obtain medical help, if you indeed do have septicaemia then by going, you have had a lucky escape IME/IMO. I have had septicaemia before as well ( through no fault of my own, wound got infected.. I don't IV anything.. ) and also left it a while before seeking help, and was told that 24hrs later I would have been in a severe danger zone, and my life would have been at risk. So even though things seem bad right now, and that you may require surgery and skin grafts ( you should know by now, please update us, PM me if you wish.. ), things could be a hell of a lot worse, you could have not gone, fallen asleep tonight in extreme agony, and not woken up or something terrible. So even if you do need surgery etc, just remember that it could have been worse. Good luck with everything, and please let me know how things are going, I'm here if you need someone to talk to! I second this. Ready rock and soft girl are two different things. Soft girl is water soluble and crack...is not (for those of you that found this out by holding it in your mouth).

UPDATE: Still at the hopsital. Ive been here since thursday lucky no sepsis. They MRI my arms and theres no infection pass the initial part. They have me on intense IV anti biotics and there hoping that will clear me up my arm. If I can find my mini sd card ill post pictures. Its bad im missing alot of skin so bad my whole tattoo is ruined. And sadly in my situation they were unable to IV me because ive blown all my viens they couldnt even mainline my neck they IVd my foot. At least there giving me pain meds which also sucks because im in sever pain and because on the outs i normally do about 20 blues a day and so the pain medicine does nothing. but ill keep an update. thanks for the advice. and when I get out ima try and stay away from the needle because shooting dope isnt bad as for abcess but when you miss with hard it is almost guaranteed an abcess the viniger is bad.

@Empress glad for the update and super glad no septicemia! They had to IV my foot at the hospital, too, for lack of veins. So, no worries, the hospital staff see this kind of stuff all the time. I am guessing that soft girl is not available in your area or you would have chosen that over readyrock...
