fragments of a day

tick tick tick tick tick
a ding here, and a beep
seems weve finally reached monotany.
an alarm sounds,
and my robotic arms stretch
i go through the actions
i do the jobs.
everything, everything gets done.
everything.
you cant see me, and i cant see you
i see sidewalk cracks,
weeds and grass
your gum, my shoe, an incident
but i dont feel it.
open books and a calculator
my paid education
my fight for green papers.
a technical meal
amongst.....friends?
i pay with plastic
you pay with a smile
a car crash here
someone dying over there
just turn your head
just turn
it all goes away
you beg for money
i beg for something
anything
anything
anything
im all material
no substance
who needs it?
everything must get done
im working, cant you see?
cant you see what im fighting for?
i must look nice
i must be nice
i must smell
think
drive
talk
be
feel
eat
sleep
walk
....nice
cant you see?
ive been too blind to notice.

there is freedom within/ there is freedom without/ try to catch the deluge in a paper cup/ theres a battle ahead/many battles are lost/but youll never see the end of the road when youre traveling with me....NF.

i find myself increasingly attracted to this style of poetry... it's quite japanese in style... few words, much meaning... and you can interpret it different ways each time you read it... i like it
