Fractals and Buddhism

On days I that I believe Buddhism (enlightenment??) I see fractals.

On days when I close my mind and refuse to believe, I do not see fractals.

Does anyone else experience this?

I find it absolutely mind blowingly wonderful.

Also, is enlightenment the same thing as schizophrenia?

Same as schizophrenia? Maybe? Don't worry about it <3 Not saying that it isn't an interesting discussion but the way to enlightenment is typical consider one of thoughts no more :)

enlightenment is not schizophrenia. enlightenment is also not something only a Buddhist can obtain. furthermore, if you only believe in your religion on certain days do you really believe it at all?

Love this.

I've been following the buddah path for about a year now, and love it, but I only "believe in it" as much as I believe in brushing my teeth.

And I've seen fractals all my life. :)

First off, I can barely make out what you are saying.

Second, you cannot choose to be a Buddhist, it is something you must believe in wholheartedly, and spend everyday striving to reach the perfect Buddhahood(Buddhatva, as it is called in some texts)within. It is a commitment which often takes many lives.

There is no 'glimse' into Buddhism :\ *EDIT - Actually I take that back. Look intro 'Stream Entry'

What, did you choose to be gay as well?

While I agree, to be a Buddha you must have de fact acheived nibbana. ( ie Aware of the true dharma)

No need to be so hard on the OP guys, not everyone has put as much energy into learning about these things as some of us have.
I do apologize to the OP, but to be honest I thought I was being quite matter-of-fact, and not mean at all.

It's probably not a religious thing. I know where (she's?) coming from. It's a flirtation with eastern philosophy, and it really seems to invade the status quo most of us grow up with. It's probably good that you don't totally subscribe to a new set of beliefs. Go ahead and find your own truth :)

Good post jat, i agree whole heartedly.

Regardless of the specific content if your beliefs, yes they do shape your experience. So it makes sense that on days that you feel more "open" or "connected" or whatever you want to call it, that you would experience these things.

No need to get caught up in specific beliefs though :)

Fractals appear everywhere in nature despite what belief system you subscribe to.

the connection between fractals and enlightenment is infinity. the fractal patterns you experience while on psychedelic drugs, in an egoless state, visually represent the infinite within you.. and i dont really know what else to say about this lol.

Well put in my opinion. Although I'm not that firey with passion about this subject anymore it is still there in my heart somewhere.

Nice :) I need to get me some fractals.

My wife bought that fractal-cauliflower at a local market recently to bring home for dinner. She bought it especially because I was tripping and she knew I'd like it. She was right. I couldn't stop staring it at. Most magnificent vegetable I've ever laid eyes on. Tasted amazing too.
