I don't know about you guys, but I definitely don't speak in secret code with my junkie friends.

It's articles like this that make me think that the people who write them have never been within 100 ft of a drug/user in their lives. Not only could this describe so many other things, but as a user myself, I've experienced little to none of this (excluding #4, they got that right). But maybe that's just me. They even repeat points through the list.

Thoughts?

A lot of media fear mongering and AMA propaganda-science.

Those five signs a pretty funny, and it doesn't do much but support paternalistic paranoia.

At least at the very end of the article a couple sentences are devoid to the more important points, and said advice isn't as bad as it often is in such articles.

It's CBS, a major news mass media group. What do people really expect, especially here, from outlets like that?

"Intense calm" is one of the warning signs...

i.e.
If you're not freaking the fuck out about the world collapsing, you're probably on drugs.

Hahaha those "slang terms" were my favorite! I'm sure if someone heard you talking about or saw you texting about "oxy" they would have no idea what you really meant. That's a hard code to crack.

"Oh, don't worry mom, I was just tryna get that oxy clean. I got some serious stains!"

Like FM said ^ ^ ^

"Intense calm" sparked a memory of a potential new doctor I saw 4 years ago when my lifelong GP retired (died 6/15).

SHE said "You're already taking 2 benzos"

I asked "What's a benzo?"

SHE said "Both Ativan and Donnatal are benzos. There are newer more effective meds. You show no signs of anxiety".
(I guess she had the benefit of x-ray vision because apparently my colon was calm as well.)

O-O-O-K...Could that be because the fucking Ativan is calming my anxiety and the Donnatal is preventing my colon from kinking like a garden hose?

Long story less long. She's not my new doctor and my "benzos" continue to be a lifesaver. :\

I'm not downing any previous posters but I really don't see this as propaganda. Most of those points could match the way opiate addiction has effected my life. I disagree with the laws and regulations on drugs, and i don't think this article was written to support those ideas/laws.

Those signs of drug use always contain conflicting info because drugs work differently for everyone. The best is when it stays "is your son or daughter... then it says stuff like "sleeping too much or too little always very moody etc" and most that either conflicts so its like whether your happy or sad tired or energetic your on drugs, or they neglect to realize teens are not adults and have mood swings and stuff.

The only way to be able to tell if someone is using drugs is when they tell you otherwise you unsubstantiated "evidence" is paranoia. Parents need to realize you can not spy on your kids to find out what they are doing as you look and make decisions based on a preconceived notion that is if you think your kid is on drugs you will find "evidence" supporting your claim because you wanted to. At least when it comes to behavior.

I know for a fact that a few of the posters on reddits Dark net markets sub forum are government informants or employees. I doubt they spend much time here at bluelight where the sourcing rules are enforced stringently though. Not to say they don't glean I telligence from here though.

^ lol that's the kind of insane "logic" they use to invoke paranoia! Hahaha that was a good one.

Coming up on "if your child or loved one has 2 eyes, a nose, and a mouth they're on drugs.

Ive alwaysbexperienced thenopposite. I'm much more outgoing and productive not to mention social when im on the goods
