I was reading on Wikipedia about Tryptophan Hydroxylase, and it mentioned that its activity can be increased when it undergoes phosphorylation. Then it says Protein Kinase A can do that. Protein Kinase A is cAMP dependent protein kinase. Forskolin increased cAMP activity so would that then result in increased Serotonin?

maybe thats one of the reasons forskolin has a moderate anti-depressant effect on me. Everytime I take it I feel "well", for the lack of a better term. Although it has 2 side effects that bother me somewhat: - bad breath, especially in the morning and difficulty sleeping.

I don't know whether mixing forskolin with MDMA would be a good idea (assuming it gets through the BBB). We may not understand the neurochemistry well enough to know whether it is safe.

But perhaps for afterwards as I've read MDMA reduces Tryptophan Hydroxylase. It could help reduce the ensuing depression.

Also, remember specificity. With such things you want to only act on one specific receptor. cAMP affects a lot of different cycles, as many neurotransmitters either increase or decrease cAMP (if it is metabotropic it either affects cAMP or DAG/IP3). Therefore, even though you may be increasing seritonin production by inhibiting cAMP, you will also do a bunch of other unwanted shit to your brain. It is like trying to remove a mouse from your house by burning down the entire house. It just isn't worth it.
