Hi! I am new to words but have been reading many of the poetry in here. Wonderful stuff guys! So I thought I would introduce my self with a poem I wrote last semester.
--------------------------------------------------
Forsaken
I thought I knew something
About loneliness, but I was wrong
For even though you are here,
Lying next to me, I am alone.
I stare into your inky eyes
But cannot even catch a glimpse
Of the man that used to love me.
You have pulled the shade.
Your bronze, outstretched hand,
That fit so snugly into mine
Has not crossed over the imaginary line
That divides the mattress in weeks.
You have abandoned me emotionally.
The isolation I feel when you are near
Fills me with a void that is so unbearable,
I would rather bask in solitude.
