Former Texas cop plans how-to video on fooling drug officers (Updated 2/4/07)

I forgot mention, the review is from Flex Your Rights, a non-profit organization that sells a video with much different methods (refusing a search). I believe that their review was open minded and fair.

On the other end, Cooper is being earnest about the police being out to fuck you. Both ways you get fucked, one of them has a better chance of standing up in court (refusing a search).

agreed. cooper is basing his advise off his experience. the citizen will have to decide the best method for the situation.

It would be funny if he was deliberately disseminating bad advice that was practically guaranteed to get you arrested.

You know, i was thinking this exact same thing.
Some of the advice on this seems a little flimsy.

oh they are good at being crooked like that down there (riding your ass so you cant tell if they are a cop to make you speed up till your speeding for example) thats his motivation though for a big fuck ya'll at least.

I like the link in the FlexYourRights review:
http://gritsforbreakfast.blogspot.com/2005/03/how-often-do-drivers-refuse-consent-to.html

In 94% of instances where police requested searches without probable cause, drivers gave consent to have their vehicles searched. (The numbers are relatively low because the study only lasted two months and not all officers participated.) Most of those searched almost certainly didn't know they could refuse, or felt pressure not to, which is why the consent rate is so high. By contrast, in Austin, when drivers knew they could refuse consent because they had to sign a written form, the number of consent searches declined by 63% last year.

Oh, and I think that they're right: you should refuse, refuse, refuse.. and use that refusal in court if the officer tries anything fishy. Remember: If the officer does something illegal, your whole case can be thrown out and you'll walk free (too bad the drugs won't..)

edit: Found a tracker, finally. Thanks, demonoid (and the guy from 'roomery that uploaded)
Ouch... almost 5 gigs tho!
