I'm vehemently against the death penalty too. I think human life is beautiful, even in the cases of the most horrendous people. It doesn't mean i have to respect that person in the least, before or after their death, and it doesn't mean i have to care about them.

The disease he had was awful, but i don't see why anyone should have to back down from their stance. He was a man, who made very controversial decisions. You like him or you don't. I don't.

But maybe if we all shared the same opinion "what a wonderful it could be". Isn't it conservatives that tell liberals...

"you don't have the right to not be offended"?

Fuck Hitler. I am glad hes dead, the amount of pain and suffering he caused is never ending to some. FYI supporting someone and having sympathy for someone who died is different (sorry i cant get the last part of what i want to say across very well)

I stated I didn't like Ronald Reagan, but of the war atrocities he ordered. Dr Seus posted some descriptions of the most horrid actions taken under Reagan's support.

j22,, now has resulted to calling me a fag, a pussy, and a bigot (anyone else see the irony?.. good.) b/c i don't like his hero. He uses the excuse that i should respect all the dead. That no one should be ill of the dead.

I am simply making the point, that while life is beautiful and precious, supporting a war criminal or honoring him in his death, is frankly a bunch of bullshit.

j22 i promise you didn't honor the deaths of those in Iran, Iraq, Nicarragua, El Salvador, Greneda, Kosovo, or any other military action the US has taken, but i bet he cried a river in his steroid laden protein shake when american soldiers died (regardless if they were decent human beings or not).

j22 then started issuing personal attacks (and put me on ignore and kept up the attacks, even outside of the lounge, See Also: Support) because he took my moral and political opinion personally.

I know steroid abuse can make one incredibly aggressive and emotionally unstable, but i'm suprised at the level he's taken it to.

You said it "Fuck hitler, I'm glad he's dead". I didn't even say i was glad Reagan died. I just said "fuck him". I don't care. I don't wish death on anyone, including a murderer. But i don't have to respect them.

But now that this topic has been beaten in the ground, I'm done.

indeed. it just defies plain common sense and logic that somebody could hold respect for the dead above the pain and suffering of countless thousands/millions who died at the hands of this monster we're supposed to respect simply because they have now passed away.
