An interesting documentary though not very information heavy.
On one hand I do applaud what they are doing. Cambodia and the surrounding countries like Laos and Thailand, are really beautiful countries with gorgeous wildnerness. Unfortunately, poaching and other environmentally unsound practices hurt them alot, and you can see the impact on their environments.
but yeah destroying all that safrole has been the cause of alot of rubbish pills and a real lack of MDMA. To be honest, I'm not that concerned about the lack of MDMA. Don't get me wrong it is a great drug and I love, but we can all survive without it. What does annoy me is the mix of dangerous chemicals that people now take instead. the lack of MDMA has no doubt lead to a number of deaths due to adulterated pills. Not to mention people who have now switched to methamphetamine and all the damage and addiction it causes.
On a side note: I noticed that guy was holding a pink mickie mouse. Those pills were everywhere for a good 4 or so months in mid 2009. To be honest, they weren't particularly good either. We always talk about imports being banging, but these were not particularly. 2 were necessary to get you really pumping. I wonder if these were produced in Cambodia, or SE Asia?
