Of some relevance is that vibration induced neuropathy is a real and not terribly uncommon phenomena, with a tendancy to cause sensory impairment of the affected area (usually hand). It's an occupational concern mostly for people who work with power tools or engineering/machine shop equipment. But in theory in sounds related? I dunno, random note to ponder on...
