i can only imagine the hurt you are going through now
those feelings of betrayal, hurt and contempt
you know, not so long ago I had experienced that myself
when people you think you know, you thought were friends,
decided that trading in that friendship
for something new, a plaything that's glossier
is worth more than you.

is that so much a betrayal? i can't really say.
after all it depends from case to case,
even then there are people who get caught in the fall-out
some people grieve then move on;
some are wounded beyond any hope of resuscitation.
your body lay broken in the battlefield for a while,
but...

you've returned, even better than before.
overcame the move that was meant to defeat you
believe that you're not worth any less than anything or anyone
you're worth much more to yourself, contrary to what others say
you've rebounded from the downs that went on in your life
though they may have succeeded in a certain aspect;
remember that they have only won a battle - but you've won the war
by growing stronger, by cutting the losses and moving on.
See instead of making you weaker, they've lost by achieving the opposite.

so even if you feel down now and again, do so only for a short while
grieve the lost friendships, mourn what's been lost.
smile because even though you didn't come through unscathed;
you've made it, and you've started again.
