For those of you that take MDMA - how do you deal with your mis-informed peers?

MDMA is a curious one. Doesn't seem to work for me more often than once every 3-6 months. I find I can recreate a better MDMA experience by simply dropping LSD 30 minutes apart. (Can be a little rough on your intestinal tract tho so don't eat anything that day)

I always wondered about the rat experiments where they injected massive amounts directly into the brain every 4 hours for a week then killed them and allegedly found "damage". How about giving the rats a dose once a month and seeing how it affects them in their daily lives instead? Or try and devise a test where 2 years later you can distuingish between a rat that has been eeed of it's tits every month and a rat that hasn't. Obviously the DEA wouldn't fund research like that.

Ismene do you know about 'rat park'?

It's one thing injecting rats with substance A and giving them fuck all else to do. Quite another to inject them and give them and others a (safe) Alton Towers.

Google it.

PS We aren't animals anyway. At least, we are not rats.

The reported brain damage in rats was 'olneys lesions' - large voids in the brain. This was often used in anti-mdma propaganda. However, there is NO evidence that this effect has ever been demonstrated in humans. As SHM sez, 'we are not rats'. Unfortunately, this also brings into question other research carried out on rats and how that translates into human behaviour - e.g. 'Rat Park'. The findings from Rat park would seem to be logical, but I fear that humans will often abuse anything in any situation, however comfortable or happy they may be. Human nature innit?

I for one sit on the fence in regards to long term dangers of MDMA. Whilst I am aware that the dangers of MDMA are far from what the government tells us, I can definitely feel after a roll that it definitely isn't "good" for the brain. What I mean by this is that I feel that long term use of MDMA (10+ years) could possibly change you mentally (not necessarily negatively however). At 23, I can definitely see my MDMA use coming to an end (or at the very least dropping to a couple of times a year), not only due to my job but because I feel that doing something that feels that good (for a long period of time) cannot be good for you.

Yes there have been instances where at the start of summer, I did it 3 weekends in a row - something which is unlike me. Whilst I felt absolutely fine afterwards and didn't turn into a cretin or get SS like ED suggested, I made the decision that it probably wasn't great what I did. So, I took 4 weeks off, and am infact doing it on Wedsnesday to celebrate a special occassion.

I think MDMA is self limiting in terms of harm, as most people smash it in their teens/early twenties and then naturally grow to stop doing it due to life/family/work commitments.

Absolutely extraordinary statement. Will you be giving up holidays? Food? Exercise? Sex?

Somehow, I feel that I should of known better than to make a statement like that in EADD =D

I care just as much as I care about their religious beliefs. I'm not going to change their minds so why should I bother?
......

I'll concentrate my efforts on teaching them how to responsibly use drugs. the rest of society can find out from someone else.

Why are you a member of BL then?
