For how long MSCONTIN work ?

Quick question, for how long MSCONTIN work ? I know it's loner than IR witch are 3-4hrs.. My doc turned me from IR to ER last week but I can't tell precisely for how long they work.

Does it depend on the dependence ? or the dose ?

If taking whole as prescribed, it should be 24 hours my friend.

You are instructed to take one tablet every day, right?

Your dependence and tolerance will come into the play if the dose of the extended release pill doesn't match how much you would need in 24 hours.

I thought MS contin was 12 hours and Kadian and Avinza were 24.

nah 2 dose each days. 50mg on the morning & 50mg at night. Thought it was more something about 12 than 24hrs.

but maybe if your taker higher dosage like 100mg on the morning it stay longer.

MScontin is supposed to last 12 hours, twice a day dose. I find that a 3rd dose in the day is needed. I'm scripted the 15mg IR's for BT and the 30mg MScontin twice a day.

12 hrs prn twice daily standard dose. As your tolerance shifts, you will need to have you SR altered and I recommebd something for BR pain as well since once stabilised on modified release your body will be more tolerant and breakthrough pain more frequent.

The dosage does not make it last longer. A modified release will release whatever the MG is over the 12 hour period. More preceisely 8-12 hours and if you are a habitual opiod/opiate user than 3x daily will probably be neccessary.

do you know it what percentage is dosed per hour on an SR pill. I got my first script of MScontin's this month.

hehe I followed your advice guys, just won +20 mg a day

im now at 3x40mg/day cause I was getting pain at about 16-17h. I hope it help.
