I've got quite a few essays to write due in for the next week, and I have the choice between these two substances. Which one is best for concentration?
Note the lack of M for the ethylphenidate, it's not ritalin, it's just ethylphenidate
I think Methylphenidate was mainly chosen as an ADHD medication over ephylphenidate because of its longer half life. Ethylphenidate would appear to be methylphenidate's rogue sister compound, perfectly useful and snatched up by RC vendors. It ought to be a decent study aid if used correctly. 2-DPMP on the other hand, I've heard less favourable reports of.
JSPete pretty much nailed it in one post Methylphenidate > ethylphenidate in terms of duration. Ethylphenidate is more selective to the dopamine transporter than methylphenidate and less selective to the norepinephrine transporter, although I am unaware of what implications this might have as to its efficacy as a study aid.
And as stated, have heard absolutely nothing about 2-DPMP that would suggest to me that it would be a pleasurable or useful stimulant for academic concentration.
