Food-grade N2O impurities?

an idea for filtering impurities

My suggestion would be to place a piece of cloth tightly over the cracker before putting the balloon over it. A good option for cloth would be the ones used to clean glasses. They're tightly woven but still gas permeable.

Securely hold the cloth and balloon in place with your fingers or a rubber band. When the canister releases the N20, the gas has no problem penetrating the cloth and filling the balloon as usual. You can release as many canisters as you like. Then twist the balloon to hold in the gas, remove the cloth and cracker, then untwist and have at it. 8o After many uses, I would clean the cracker, and replace the cloth and balloon with new ones.

I'm not sure how well this technique works at keeping out impurities but I never seem to have any problem. Some prefer to keep their balloon on the cracker at all times but the impurities are going to stay on the cloth and inside the cracker anyway so it really defeats the purpose of even trying to filter the gas in the first place. I guess another option for those who put their mouth on the cracker :p would be to put the cloth over it first (and don't share?). I've never tried to do it that way but it would probably work just as well. I'm sure their are many variations of this same basic idea. Do whatever feels good to you. But, definitely consider the cloth.:)

What cars still use 1 liter engines?

As to food grade nitrous oxide impurities.....there are various [note: just saw the age of this thread, not worth further reply]
