Stimulants Focalin XR - How much for a first timer?

I'm using Focalin to help my studying, and was wondering how much to use and how to use it. Idk if it matters but I'm 6' 180 pounds.
I have 40mg XR capsules, I took one a couple days ago orally, but the effects were pretty faint. I got a long lasting buzz, but would rather have it kick in stronger and last shorter. Should I crush up the beads and mix it with water?

Any help is appreciated

If you are looking for a stronger experience perhaps try adderall? Also i do not know about the extended realease system in the focalin. But, if it's anything like adderall( wax beads) i have defeated the time realease somewhat by crushing them and bombing them. You don't neccesarily need to put them in water just a small piece of rolling paper or cig paper will do for a "parachute" if you feel like you can handle a higher dose, increase it slowly and be careful.

Focalin is fairly new, and is actually supposed to be stronger than adderall and ritalin but I believe the ext. release on it is more gradual.

I'm not really into snorting things, so I would be hesitant, but how is snorting adderall? How much do you do and how long does it usually last?

Don't snort adderall, you'll fill your sinuses with garbage and waste some of the amphetamine.

The best idea for you I think would be to smash the pill and take half. It should kick in really quickly. If you take all 40mg it may be a bit much for you.
 
Thanks, I wasn't planning on snorting anything.

I have the Focaline capsules, so by smash them do you mean take out the beads and crush them, then ingest it?
 
Yes, that is correct. Empty the pill out, divide the beads into 2 equal sized piles, crush one half. Then either mix it into e.g. water or fruit juice and drink it, or put the powder back into the pill capsule and eat it.

Save the other beads and you can repeat the process again at another date. I would not redose, because 20mg of Focalin is roughly equivalent to 40mg of regular racemic methylphenidate so you should be feeling pretty good. Taking any more will probably just make you really tweaked out.
