So I got prescribed focalin 2.5mgs generic. They look like this :

Dexmethylphenidate%202.5%20mg-TEV.jpg

Does anyone have any experience with IV'ing these? Hot water makes them kinda jelly, and when you throw the cotton in there the binders just coagulate around them. Pretty much useless.

Cold water worked a lot better, currently the method i've been using is I crush one pill, throw 100 units on it, filter with a cotton the size of a pea. This works pretty well , the binders seems to stay behind and the shot is clear. The problem is the dosage is so small. So I take that shot and use it to prepare the next pill, until I can get 3 or 4 in a rig... It works though. It's just a pain in the butt and I want to know if you have any other techniques.

I wish I had the 10 mg ones...

Thanks!

Hey lenses! I don't have any experience with these... but if they are problematic for prepping for IV use, I suspect cotton + micron filtering might be in order.

Then again I am not familiar with the inactive ingredients of this particular pill, and if you can supply me with a list of the specific inactive ingredients for this pill you have, I can look up the information on them. That might help shed some light as to how to get around the "gelling". :)

If you have IV'd this, what is the effects like of d-methylphendiate compared to racemic methylphenidate? I am interested to hear your subjective experience regarding this.

The inactives are: lactose, anhydrous / lactose monohydrate / magnesium stearate / cellulose, microcrystalline / starch, corn / fd&c blue no. 2. Pretty run of the mill inactives...

I have IV'd it, although for me it tends to be small amounts because the pills are difficult to IV. I imagine large doses would be pretty strong. Compared to MPH it has MUCH less side effects and anxiety. Feels like a lot less NE release. MPH makes me sweat and gets me sketchy while this is good for focusing and seems a lot smoother.

I would like to try larger doses IV'd, hopefully next month I will get my dose upped. I'll update if I get to try that.

My thoughts exactly. It should be straight forward. You are probably going to want to use a micron filter to remove the corn starch (it's also present in Suboxone), however I believe that the magnesium stearate should be removed via cotton filter. The MCC is smaller than cotton pores but it is also insoluble in water, so proper cotton filtration *should* (I am not 100% sure but I am assuming) be removed via cotton. AFAIK, the lactose could be filtered out due to cotton, or not (if the particles are < 50 um, since it is water soluble).

So, other than injecting corn starch and possibly lactose (which happens when you don't micron filter Suboxone and shoot it too), I think you are pretty much OK with using compacted cotton to remove the non-water soluble inactives.

I don't see anything super-funky in there that should prevent filtration.

Cool, thanks for the subjective exp lenses! That's what I would have predicted but it's good that focalin has less effects that are indicative of NE release! :)

I do hope you can get your dose raised too, good luck with that as well!
