It's almost that time of year when Fly Amanita mushrooms start popping in various locations in SoCal.
The harm reduction question (as in not getting yourself killed) I am posing here is -- are there Fly Amanita look-a-like mushrooms out there? Mushrooms that are red/reddish with white spots that aren't really Amanitas or are Amanita variants that kill you sooner than they'd give you a recreational experience?
Also, once dried is there a source for dosing suggestions?
I'm going to post a picture of the Amanita, but please note this is not necessarily the Amanita I see popping-up once the rains start - I'll post some of those photos when the red-heads in question start popping-up.
