Flushed Skin in Alcohol Sensitive People

^ Haha, no, this is not the case (well it is a poison, but nevrermind...)
Alcohol is a very pharmacologically messy drug as well as being psychologically messy... it's an GABA-A agonist at a distinct binding site and other subunits like a1 afaik, a NMDA antagonist, a weak 5-HT antagonist afaik, affects the functioning of sodium channels, as well as other neurotransmitter systems (ie. opioid) though indirect mechanisms, and then CNS unrelated ones like diuretic hormone etc.

Anyway to block all or most of the effects of alcohol would be difficult, but you could block & reverse most of the sedation with a drug like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/R015-4513 .

There are benzo derivatives that work to reverse alcohol and benzo's effects at the GABA receptor but they never got into use because they have very short half lives.
