Fluoxetine 10 mg Xanax 1mg daily..Have i lost my weekend rituals?

Hello Everyone..

I was recently prescribed Fluoxetine 10 mg and Xanax 1mg for Anxiety and Depression daily . Thing Is Fri-Sun Im out With my Mates Drinking And i love that.
And I as far as i know and as much as i researched TAKING THE PILLS WITH ALCOHOL IS A NO NO... I want to get better IM very open minded ill take pills if they help, of course. But MY MFing Weekends....I want that s!#T
I just Want to no if theres away around this? or if I didnt take the pills the days i were to drink... But then there are half lives and other stuff....IDK

Any Advice? THANKS!!
 
The prozac will build up in your system. Shouldn't drink on it. The Xanax will not build up in your system. If you don't take the prozac ever and only take the Xanax on the week days then you can still drink on the weekends. So basically do you need the prozac more or the alcohol more? Thats up to you.
 
THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR RESPONDING . Ive taken Prozac all threw highschool then stopped..I am Now 21.. This Is A new Doctor Im seeing .. What should i say in order to convince her to get me off the Prozac?
And FUCK YES I WANT TO GET CRUNK ON MY WEEKENDS
 
My Normal Alcohol Consumption ON weekends. 8-12 maybe a shot.. im obviously not going to drink that much. I understand ill get drunk off less. How Much Would Less BE? 1-2 Beers?
 
Just don't drink on the Xanax, that's what would really fuck you up (and cause potentially fatal issues).

The Prozac is more just not recommended. There's nothing particular you need to say to your doctor if you don't want to take it, just tell her you don't want it. You're an adult and therefore have the final say as to what medicines you take.
 
Well I mean I really just dont want the ssris in my system..Shes Knows I drink on weekends and STRICLY TOLD ME IF SHE FINDS OUT IM DRINKING ON THESE MEDS I CANT SEE HER ANYMORE? I can obviously lie to her but.. The thing im worried about is what if she thinks im Scheming or something or some shit like that? I just want to be prepared

Just tell her you don't want an SSRI.
Is there more to this that you're not telling us? Most doctors aren't so invasive at getting involved with patients' private lives.
 
When I was 17 I got A felony Charge for assault on an officer I was Intoxicated ... She knoes that.. Thinks Im not Well with alcohol and i might have a problem.. SHE MIGHT BE RIGHT. But I have been a good little boy since.. and havent had ANY EPISODES LIKE THAT SNICE!!!!
So after i told her that , Her response was with a question. Whens the last time you had drink ? I replied by saying yesterday.. Cause yesterday was EASTER i was with some of the family .. i only had 2 glasses of wine thats it...
THEN She said she doesnt believe me.. AND says I CAN smell Alcohol on your breathe right now!
I Responded Thats Impossible The Only Thing I took This Morning Was A Bong hit and mouth wash.. AND I TOLD HER IM NOT FUCKING LAIR AND I CAN TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSE Where.. Somehow she was able to calm me down... Then we just bullshitted a little bit more then the sesh was over and i got my scripts..
I honsetly didnt drink that morning... It was so absurd . SO me and her are defintely got of on the wrong foot
 
Drinking while on those medications isnt a good idea. Like WA said, which do you need more/which is more important to you?

I had asked my doctor once because he prescribed me a new med, Cymbalta. I drank with Effexor, paxil and Prozac but never mentioned it to him but this time I spoke to him about it. He told me as long as it was just a couple drinks assuming I'm not overdoing it, then it's ok. Being that you are also taking Xanax, I would be cautious just because of the CNS depression risk.

Nobody can say with any certainty that it's fine to do this. I would like to say go ahead and ask your doctor. But seems she has an issue with your alcohol intake already. Even if you didn't drink before your last visit with her, she smelled alcohol on you which could have been from the previous night. You say that you have been good and havn't had any recent problems, but why invite trouble?
 
imo drinking on prozac is fine. don't see why it wouldn't be tbh.

xanax though will make you black out easily if you drink (can't say how easily, it varies from person to person, but you know, you can black out on xanax alone, just like alcohol). lucky you it has a short half-life (6hs i guess? may be less) so just don't take it when you plan drinking.
