Stop resisting!
"Everything that happened today is actually in my dream, and I want to prove it to everybody," 18-year-old Mark Welch of Volusia County told a 911 dispatcher.

It sounds like the beginning of a reality-bending sci-fi movie, but it was actually the beginning of a kid who smoked too much synthetic marijuana pissing off police.

According to a Volusia County Sheriff's Office release, Welch smoked K2, AKA synthetic marijuana, Sunday and took a nap. When he awoke, he was convinced that everything in his dream was coming true. He tried to tell his family about it, but they obviously didn't believe him. So instead he called 911.

"What did you dream about that's happening?" the dispatcher asked.

"It's all on paper," Welch replied. "I wrote it down."

A deputy was dispatched and determined that Welch seemed out of it but didn't need medical attention. He told Welch not to call 911 again, and his parents hid the kid's phone.

Welch, however, still felt the need to report his dreams to 911. So he went to a neighbor's house to call again, about 40 minutes later.

"The officer told me not to call back," Welch told 911. "And he said if I called back, then y'all were going to take me to court. So I'm calling back.

"I have to prove something to my family," he continued. "So can you send an officer back?"

Welch's dreams may not have been coming true, but his 911 call prediction did.

The same officer returned and promptly arrested Welch for misuse of the 911 system.

I think the guy on the shroomery is a troll by the first few posts I read of his in the thread. If he actually is the kid, then I think he clearly has mental issues, which may have been brought on by substance abuse if the journalist actually wrote up factual evidence rather then speculating (which wouldn't necessarily outrageous). I'm going with the kid having a psychotic episode.

Someone claiming to be Mark Welch is responding to these stories on the shroomery:

He doesn't seem to be willing to share any of his premonitions that would make people believe that he is not crazy.
Says that he got arrested purposely because that is the only way to convince his family that his premonitions are real.

I believe that premonitions can be real, but he still sounds pretty wacked to me.

Im pretty sure everyone has this occur to them a few times in their life. He's nuts for thinking he needs to prove to people that he's experiencing these. Poor guy he's going to fuck up his clean record because he thinks the court system is going to accept this nonsense, he's going to be committed.

I wonder what he saw that he thinks is so important. And why bring up k2 if he thinks it had nothing to do with it, it only hurts his credibility.

Yeah I've been thinking about this. Real delusions are indistinguishable from reality, but even then, one does not need to become John the Baptist about every little thing. I've known schizophrenics who continually hallucinate but have learned to keep it to themselves, and if this guys problem is chronic and legit, he may need to learn that skill.

For almost a year now I've been having false deja-vus. Like for instance: the other day I went to the new Marlins stadium for the first time, and everything seemed incredibly familiar, and I remembered having done specific things there long ago even as I was getting ready to do those very things. But the stadium was built this year, and this was the first time I had gone.

That happens to me very frequently now. And I think this guy experienced some variation of that. A quirk in memory that gives events a double time stamp, so that everything seems to be repeating itself. His fiction is a long-remembered dream, but he possibly believes the present is the fiction.

I love my vivid dreams, so much fun. I never dream when i've been smoking weed tho, I have to have a few weeks without and my dreams come flooding back.
