Dr. Somadose thought, not for the first time, that the only real problems were the ontological ones. He had been deeply impressed by the number and extent of the flushes of Amanita Muscaria var. Formosa that had come up this year in the Pine Forest. In all the years that he had been collecting them, he had never seen the like of it. Muscimol was an interesting alkaloid. Both stimulant and sedative, it seemed to have psychedelic effects as well. He had always been shocked by the lack of understanding surrounding the proper use of this "Soma". Made into a tea on a 20 min. low boil, and sipped very slowly at 30 min. intervals, it was the most wonderful and satisfying tonic. Dr. Somadose thought that it might just be the best feeling ever, with no tolerance developing at any time. He had always made it a point to pick them fresh himself, and to make sure that rain had not got on them making them start to deteriorate, and the gills were not too damp.
"I have tasted the sweet drink of life, knowing that it inspires good thoughts and joyous expansiveness to the extreme, that all the gods and mortals seek it together, calling it honey. When you penetrate inside, you will know no limits, and you will avert the wrath of the gods... We have drunk the Soma; we have become immortal; we have gone to the light" - Text taken from the Rig Veda
