I need you ladies to help me find a sari, saree or shari or sareee?

I need it for a formal occasion in February and have to be able to dance in it, move about in it go for a fag and a piss that kinda stufff.

So I'm all over ebay already, I can sew and dont; want to look like the white grey weird lady in a sari - so how do i pull lit off?

Suggestions please?

See if you can find 'bindi's (forehead decorations) on ebay and if you find a sari shop ask if they can henna hands. You could also get a pretend (or real if you fancy it) nose piercing.

I love saris they're so feminine...look a bit odd worn with a western coat or cardigan though.

I advise you to dig out a copy of the film "Oklahoma". The ladies in the film wear them with extra neck adornment. This is known as the saree with the fringe on top.

Update on oor gorgeous Flo's Sari gift to me for my big Gala Ba' next Friday night.

Flo's sari came from Goa and was barbie pink, shading to pale pink. I thought I'd dye it up a bit with a violet Dylon Dye that I did today. Pics of process.

It still look quite pink in the pics but it def is more purple - the sequins stand out more. It's drying now and I'll iron tomorrow before repairing it and sorting the edges with some new trim I bought. No cats were dyed purple in this process but you should see ma wooden spoon!

I'm intending to combine it with a black slinky underdress thing that ties around your boobs. Then I'll have to watch youpoo to actually see how to add the sari to the undergarment. And make sure it stays there!

Thanks Flo Your a star %) Upcycling at its best. Spent £3.49 on salt and dye, £1 for new thread and £5 on just in case braid for repair. With the underdress coming in at £19.99 - I think it'll be FAB frock
