"Flashback" of LSD Effects

Hey All,

Last night about 6 PM I dosed with a low dose (not sure how low) of LSD. Since it was gonna be a low dose, some syrian rue was taken (also a small amount) to lengthen/heighten the experience. In general, I had a relaxing/slight CEV-type of experience.

This afternoon, after a swim and a walk, I began to feel the effects of the LSD again. My limbs feel heavy and I'm totally chilled out like I was last night. No visuals or anything, just a nice, light serotonin buzz.

Here's the full disclosure: I'm currently taking the following pharmaceuticals for bipolar disorder/ADHD:

300 mg/day Lamictal
60 mg/day Strattera (SNRI not SSRI)
5 mg/day Abilify

I also had some soy today which is on the "banned food" list for syrian rue/MAOIs.

I've done all the research on serotonin syndrome and the hypertensive emergencies associated with MAOI toxicity and I don't meet any of the criteria for those (I was a bit worried about feeling off and having broken some of the rules of using an MAOI...stupid, I know).

So after this meandering missive, my question is this: Is this one of those oft-referred to LSD "flashbacks"? I know the effects of LSD + syrian rue can make for a longer than usual experience, but why did the effects disappear after a few hours last night and then reappear about 18 hours later? Anybody else had this kind of thing happen?

Thanks in advance,
Ivy

Effects of LSD alone are what, 6-12 hours? With an MAOI could make it to 18 to some effect, sure.

swim swimminny swim swim swaroo.

No need to swim here. We are all on the same page, and if not? None the safer.

I kinda figured it was just the LSD. This is the first time with the rue. The intervening time with no effect was just mysterious to me. The effects are stronger now than when the dose was first taken. Psychs never seem to fail to surprise me.

I'm very surprised you felt the LSD at all considering your taking 300 mg/day Lamictal for bipolar.

Lamictal in my experience prevents you from feeling the LSD effects. You could have only been feeling the syrian rue.

In my experience after 300 + LSD trips I've never had a flashback also; i don't believe in them, i personally think it's myth and or psychosomatic.

And knowing other Bipolar folks, they tend to image things going on in there bodies that really are not happening.

I'm married to a bipolar person that takes Lamictal also. She use to love LSD and had many great trips on it before she and I realized she had bipolar ,it runs in her family unfortunately. This is my experience and you my be different.

She'll stops using Lamictal for a mouth or two when she get the craving for LSD. I don't advice this for anyone else, but this is
her way, although I do cope with her mode swings quit well nowadays.
25 years of marriage teaches you this.

Good luck to you
Namaste
