Flashback Induced By Cannabis Use

I was wondering if anyone who's had a flashback could shed any light on this, or if anyone can relate:

A few days ago I had a small amount of acid. I don't take it very often, and I never really take it in high doses. I've never seen goblins or unicorns on it, I've only had a heightened appreciation for light phenomena and trees and other lovely things. Anyway, the day after this small dose of acid (only enough to make me a bit giggly) I was smoking weed with some friends. My friend neglected to inform me that the spliff was a pure weed spliff with no tobacco and was very strong indeed (something I'm really not used to.)

I stopped being able to concentrate on the conversation over breakfast. I was preoccupied with the ringing in my ears which was fast becoming deafening. Then my vision became fuzzy and I told my friends of my deteriorating condition. They suggested going out into the garden and having some water, which we did. As we were walking out, My vision went almost totally white, something I've never experienced on any amount of LSD or other drug. It was almost impossible to focus on people a few feet away. Then it occurred to make the link to LSD, and I became convinced that the experience was in some way related to my use of acid the night before. I was pretty worried and distressed, but as I lay on a piece of garden furniture, I settled down and began to enjoy the overwhelming experience. I closed my eyes and saw geometric patterns like fractals - this has never happened to me on LSD, although sometimes on acid I see fractals appearing in pieces of patterned cloth or wallpaper. Then as the it started to lessen in intensity I sat up and began to join in in conversation again. For about half an hour, colours were accentuated and beautiful, and my attention was constantly drawn to light spectrum patterns in the curvature of my wine glass. The look on people's faces reminded me of the way I see people when I'm on acid too. Gradually these feelings faded until I felt pretty much sober.

I don't know if this was a genuine flashback - in parts it was much more intense than any experience I've ever had on acid. But I find that I'm particularly susceptible to paranoia on lots of weed, so it could have been my imagination running away from me. Also, weed can be trippy too right? It could have just been a cannabis experience.

Does this sound like anything that's happened to you? Let me know, I'm very interested, this was very odd.

Yup, definitely, 100%

I would say my psychedelic drug use has definitely super sensitized me to cannabis.

Ive gotten "flash blacks" usually after a day or two of taking the psychedelics, especially if I haven't taken that particular one before.

They are not exactly unpleasant, can be strange and frightening,
They can be unfortunate if your not in the best situation because you don't see it coming at all, It takes me as little as one hit to set one off.

I haven't had one in a while now, even though ive been using more psychedelic drugs then i have before.
Ive had them with high dose mushrooms, DMT, and most recently 2C - E.

The one with 2C - E was strange indeed, 3 days after the experience, it was filled with paranoia, flash backs, I was REALLY messed up. Then to top it off, as you may know insufflating any 2C is extremely painful, mid way through one of the flash backs, my nose started gushing blood!

Not pleasant, I still enjoy weed, but i dont use it as much as I used to, and certainly not in public places

Cannabis is a very strange substance, multi-use, Recreational, sedative, painkiller, and most certainly PSYCHEDELIC it always seems to surprise, definitely has some strange effects on the mind.

I guess for a while I just had that 'I'm on acid' feeling which is pretty impossible to describe. I wouldn't say it was unpleasant, unless I was maybe flying a plane or performing heart surgery at the time. Then it would have been a bit inconvenient.

That said, taking LSD has made me much more aware of visual stuff on drugs, and I notice visual changes a lot more when I take ketamine now.

Anyone else - does this sound familiar?

OP, you "whited out" which happens ALL THE TIME on potent cannabis.

the symptoms are confusion, ringing of the ears, "blindness" by white vision, and it usually results in passing out or fainting. my guess is it's some combination of low blood pressure and low blood sugar. it happens more often when weed is combined with other drugs, especially if the body is already stressed (from a night of partying before).

basically getting up and going for a walk is exactly how you make the symptoms WORSE. proper treatment for a weed white-out is sit your high ass down, eat salty crackers, and drink some water. it does not result in permanent damage (unless you are holding your hits in long enough for it to be truly oxygen deprivation) so don't worry about it. just drink moar gatorade and get moar sleep! and don't smoke so much damn weed!

edit: are you saying the "i'm on acid" feeling for you is the adrenaline rush? because i'm pretty sure you body releases adrenaline when it senses an immediate drop in blood pressure (ie, the beginning of a fainting episode) which will make you feel trippy or panicked while your body tries to stabilize the blood

The 'I'm on acid feeling' was actually more to do with the mindset I was in. And the way I find myself paying close attention to colour the play of light on objects when I'm on acid. Colours did just seem absolutely amazing, just like they do on acid.

But it did feel a lot like a whitey too, especially since I'd had a big night and was feeling quite fragile and hadn't eaten much (low blood sugar.) Maybe the paranoia got the better of me and I convinced myself I was having an unpleasant acid flashback. I do tend to worry about LSD fucking up my head, in spite of my loving it.

If anything it was more intense that anything I've experienced on LSD.

Well i havnt done acid but I can relate with salvia and Dxm. The day after a dxm trip I blazed and 3 d video game (polygons) went 2d (old school games). Which at first freaked me out cause I thought I got laced weed or sommthing, but then it came all together.

A few times iv smoked a bong and gotten the taste of salvia (week or so after doing it) then I had the very subtle minor effects of salvia (pushing- tingling) but it went away quick.

I think it would be awesome to have a flashback. I've tripped well over 100 times, but never had one.

Smoking weed the day after a trip, particularly early in the day, always brings back some mild visuals. It seems like you smoked too much potent weed, and, with your body being somewhat stressed, suffered a whiteout, and then as that wore off, the combination of being very high and lingering effects from the acid resulted in the effects you experienced.

You say you've never seen geometric patterns with closed eyes on acid? Do you smoke weed when you take acid? For me at least, LSD will consistently produce closed-eye geometric patterns if I smoke on it (but rarely if i dont).
I almost always still have slight-to-mild visuals for part of the next day when I trip (depending largely on how visual the experience was), and this is amplified if I smoke.

I can't say i feel like it can be called a flashback if it happens the next day, because I always feel like there are lingering effects the next day, which would make something like that more likely.
