After testing a powdered substance, it bubbled and fizzed using EZ-test classic, but it did not change colors. Someone whot tried it claimed ecstasy like effects, except very strong. What might it contain??

Certainly could! The fresher/better kept the tester, the better the results especially in getting that true purple colour.
PMA does not react with marquis , but let me throw some fuel into the fire - how about some binders that fizz? Calcium carbonate anyone (at a guess)?
Most reasonable explanation howerver is that the tester is too old.

Although testing kits *CAN* go bad, as long as you've kept it out of heat or too much light, your kit ought to be fine.
In fact, the bubbling pretty much confirms that yer testing kit is still working. This is because sulfuric acid degrades to an inactive compound - in otherwords bubbling would not be observed if the kit had gone bad (make sence?)
Lotsa things could have caused the bubbling, but we can say with certianty that this pill does not have MDXX like substances.

From my understanding the sulphuric acid part of the tester will never go bad; even if the tester is brown, u will still get a purple reaction; its the other colours u might not see.
As for the fizzing, as Soma said, could just be a simple carbonate compound; or any of a mulitude of similar things.
Basic chemistry:
Acid + carbonate --> salt + water + CARBON DIOXIDE (as the gas - there r your bubbles)

Yo - i'm pretty sure thats *acidic* chemistry...not basic...
GAWD - i'm such a nerd, i couldn't help but throw in a nice little chem joke.
Only one more final left and this insanity is over!

I found out now the mystery substance was BZP, which explains the MDMA simalar experinces reported. So I guess the reaction to BZP is fizz and bubble, good to know.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Yo - this doesn't nessessarly mean that all pills that bubble are BZP - there are ALOT of things that bubble when reacted with sulfuric acid.
Be sure to be careful!

What do you do when you get a test that just bubbles and doesn't change colour?
I still take it...normally a half first. Just to be safe. Always hoping it's a trip, but it's normally, uncoordinated, shakey/twitchy, fucked vision, rushy
What's a drug with the above effects only when you snort it and only for 1.5-2 hours?
Don't you love playing what have i just taken?
Where do they get half of this crap from?

I've had K bombs and it definately wasn't K.
It did pretty much nothing at all if you dropped it.
If you snorted one it was as above. It wasn't trippy at all - so not K.
I threw the rest after I had the first one.

After reading the first post I was going to suggest BZP. Well it was confirmed, just so you know marquis does go bad and has a short shelf life. The formaldehyde comes out of solution and is lost.
I'll start a new thread with the recipe's for Marquis reagent and Mecke's reagent if anyone is interested.
later,
ketone
