I have a very nice and expensive whipped cream canister that has stripped the threads on the piece of plastic that screws the charger into place, is there any way I can fix this with a trip to the hardware store? I've tried searching for a metal holder to replace it with no luck and can't find any help with a search, so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.
I've also measured the diameter of the threads on the canister and they appear to be a 1/2" NPT fitting, so I believe it can be fixed with some simple piping and a cap. Has anyone here ever tried this or know of any safety precautions aside from the obvious? The only thing that really worries me is problems puncturing the charger or making a bomb, so any advice is regarding that would be appreciated.
If I'm fucked, I'm fucked, but a mans gotta try.
