Does fish oil play any affect on how an opiate will effect you as far as euphoria or sedation. I notice when ever i take a fish oil on a particular day and have an opiate later it seems i get hardly any euphoria from it. Like today i took a respectable bump from my H, one that would definitely give me euphoria and i barely feel anything. The vitamins i took today was a B-complex, folic acid, and fish oil. It may be placebo but it seems like this consistently happens . What vitamins would affect opiates negative , if any at all?

I've heard mixed reports about fish oil and opiates, my experience shows no difference in euphoria or analgesia when using fish oils and buprenorphine.

As far as B-complex vitamins go, the B-vitamins tend to provide a mild energy boost, which may explain why you didn't feel as much of a nod, but I've never heard of that big of a difference vs. not taking B-vitamins. There's a thread over in Other Drugs about niacin (Vitamin B3) being used as an anti-abuse compound in opiate pain medicine and as a cutting agent. Because of this, I doubt that least B3 doesn't negatively affect the potency of opiates. Doesn't make much sense to use a cutting agent that makes your product even less effective...

In theory, taking fish oils before or right after orally taking drugs would cause a similar effect as eating your drugs on a full stomach from a large, fatty meal.

I'm thinking it may be placebo for the most part. How long have you been taking these supplements?

I take them kind of randomly, the B vitamin and folic acid more often. The fish oil i don't take often, but decided to today. Meh it could be placebo, i just thought i noticed a decrease of feeling when i would take fish oil before norcos to. But yea i was reading about how the B vitamin gives you some energy so that makes sense, Thanks : P

I have been on daily subutex for 5.5 years. I also take fish oil. The main reason doctors advise people to take fish oil is because it thins out your blood. So it acts as a natural defense against building plaque in your arteries.

But the thinning out of blood, it would seem to me (not a doctor), would also make whatever else is in your blood more concentrated. So it would make opiates like subutex (or whatever) more effective. I'm not sure about this, again I am looking at this from a common sense point of view rather than a scientific one.

I know when I take too much fish oil I have to sleep 14-16 hours per day, and when I wake up I am still groggy. Keep in mind that I am also taking 8mg subutex and I also take 20mg of valium (which isn't much but benzos and sub create a synergistic effect on the nervous system). If I take too little fish oil I can't sleep at all. I know this is weird but its been like this for almost 2 years, which is the length of time I've been on fish oil, subutex, and valium together. The subutex and valium I started 5.5 years ago. Fish oil started 1.5 years ago.

OP I don't know the reason for your circumstance. I can only give my experience with it.

With the price of drugs nowadays I just wouldn't take any chances with that haha. If you hae any suspicion of it decreasing your high, stay the f off it.
