Opioids first time with tar

If you're new to tar I'd advise you to do this: smoke some first and get an idea of how potent the gear is, then based off that you can shoot a reasonable amount. Don't shoot first and learn too late that you've over done it. I've OD'd that way and learned my lesson.

As far as ROA for tar; straight in the vein is the best and most efficient. Smoking is alright, but wasteful. It's only redeeming quality is that it's a lot safer. I've never tried plugging/intranasal administration.

As for the cross tolerance thing people are talking about here(switching between oxy and heroin) I've had some interesting times doing that. After doing oxy for a while I'll build a tolerance, then use tar for a while and it seems to lower my oxy tolerance. Same for the other way around.

The OP is no longer "new to tar" since this thread was started last June. I wouldn't say that ROAs other than IV are wasteful since they all have their own benefits. I prefer the intranasal ROA with heroin over IV because I like the slower come-up, longer duration, and less harm potential. Also since IV doesn't last as long, it can lead to having to dose more often which will increase tolerance and result in taking the same dose you used to take with the intranasal ROA after just a short period of using the IV ROA.

When sniffing it I can easily go a day or two before experiencing withdrawals, but with IV the withdrawals are there the next day. Even if it takes half as much to get the same high with IVing the drug compared to sniffing it, you often end up dosing twice as frequently, resulting in using the same amount, and that's before your tolerance increases from more frequent use.

TommyBoy, when you talk about "intranasal" are you referring to prepping an aqueous solution and administering it with a syringe, or snorting a powdered form of the gear?

From your description, I think I'll have to give it a shot. Sounds like a pretty good/safe time.

I'm just referrig to snorting it. I get powdered heroin in NY so I can sniff it as is, but I have also prepped solutions of it to drip into my nose when the heroin got a little wet and was no longer powdery. It is a good method, especially from a harm reduction standpoint.

Never IV unfamiliar tar, or any for that matter before testing it. And especially since this is your first time with H, you should probably get your feet wet before you dive in.

Try chasing off foil or sniffing to guage the potency before you shoot it. And enjoy. No other opiate will ever cut it again.:\

Oh I gotcha. Yeah, in a perfect world you would be able to test before you buy, but unfortunately that was almost never the case for me.

I knew plenty of dealers who'd give you a taste so that you buy some. It's like big tobacco, they run promotions and shit, 2 for 1 packs, etc. they may lose a few cents, but they gain thousands throughout your lifetime by getting you addicted.
