Opioids First Time Using a Fentanyl Patch...confused about the dose??

Thought it best to ask here as I don't wanna fuck about with Fentanyl.

So I have a choice of two different patches. One patch is "Fentanyl Durogesic Patch 75mcg/hr" and the other is "Fentanyl 50µg/hr Pain Patch"

Both are 72 hour sustained release patches and I intend to use them exactly as you are supposed to. I think they will be extremely handy to have around for those awful times when my Oxy runs out. I can just stick one on and I'm good and withdrawal free for 3 days, by which is perfect because I get my prescription weekly and it usually lasts 4 or 5 days.

Are they both just a transdermal patch that I stick on my arm? What is the difference between "ug" and "mcg"? I know Fentanyl is 100 times more potent than morphine, so using that could someone please tell me what the equivalent dose of morphine would be, just so I know what strength to use?

Please help. I can't find detailed answers online and it would be so easy to accidentally OD on such a strong opiate.
 
Based upon the manufacturer's recommendation, the 50mcg patches are equal to a total daily dose of morphine between 135–224mgs, the 75mgs equate to 225–314mgs oral morphine daily. There is no difference between µg and mcg, the first is just using the greek letter.

I take 150-200mg Oxy normally...so 300-400mg morphine....the 75 should keep me out of WD.
Do they do a 100mcg patch? That would have me feeling nice all day I think.
 
My advice is to just be careful with them. Even if you have a fair opiate tolerance, one of those patches could still easily kill you. Fent. is very VERY potent. If they are the type without the gel in them, then you can just cut them into peices and put them on slowly (it's not like it's going to run empty to fast).

But most of all just be carefull. I'm sure more people die (per capita) from fentanyl.

Haha. If I'm used to 200mg Oxy a day, the 100mcg patch would be about the same, wouldn't it?

And I don't plan to abuse it. Just stick it on my arm.

Maybe I'll buy to 50mcg ones and just put one on and if I can't feel anything after like 12 hours add the second?
 
Oh my mistake. Yeah it sounds like the 75mcg would be a great thing for you. And alot easier on your stomach lol

So with a 200mg/day Oxy habit, you suggest the 75mcg patch?

To replace the Oxy, if I run out, not on top of it lol.
 
I would. Fent is going to raise your tolly, fast, if you overdo it. Would be shite for that to happen, if you already go through your meds too fast.
