First Time User - Mind helping me out?

Live in a house with a clinically depressed parent.

Realise the fuck-buckets of drugs hoarded away for emergencies.

Find Fluoxitine (Prozac) in the fucking bathroom skincare/haircare draw.

Want to om nom nom.

What can I expect?
What dangers are there?
These things are a dull yellow and green colour, Dr. Mario style pills.

no, do not take prozac looking to get "high" it has absolutely no recreational effects and takes 2 weeks of daily use to feel the effects...go steal some of your parents alcohol if you are that deperate

I've never done any kind of drug, excluding alcohol and one or two ciggarette puffs. Never been a smoker.

You do not get high as a side effect when taking Prozac, it has absolutely zero recreational value. Don't bother taking it, plus it may be that parent's daily medication and now they may run short, so anti depressants are not medications you should steal from people.


I took citalopram for a while, it's an SSRI antidepressant, zero recreational value, takes a few weeks of taking it daily, just like Prozac to start to "feel a little better" for most people. This one is also not recreational at all, and you shouldn't be taking someone else's medication. You can not get high off either of these in any possible way.

i suggest you start with getting yourself some alcohol or tobacco first if you truly wish to start experimenting. those are the two most readily available drugs anywhere which can produce some recreational effects. use sparingly though

suicide is common among depressed individuals. my guess is after someone has tried all the routes to get better, they commit suicide. like they try prozac thinking it will be a magical pill, they get no or little results, or get dissapointed with the results and realize they dont want to live...dont quote me on this though lol

telling you not to steal your parents medication would be hypocritical, that is in fact how i got to experimenting with benzos and opiates. but i wish i never went down that path because now i rewired my brain to where "it" believes that i need them (and other drugs) to be happy....if i would go back in time i would have never done that shit. you are much better without them trust me...wait until you are older and know more about the world and how things work and then you can make a conscious, mature and wise decision on your actions. your frontal lobe (the part of the brain that determines whether an action is "good" or "bad" and the part that assess the consequences of your actions) isn't fully developed until age 18-25....

tread with caution my friend...really ask yourself, "do i know what the fuck i am getting into?" and "what is the reason i wish to experience these effects?" ....and if you chose to use then do your research!! wikipedia and google are your friends!!

I'm not stealing my parents prescription stuff - I know where she stores/how she takes her meds/what meds she takes regularly loosely, so I know what stuff I should leave for her.

My mother doesn't take prozac.

I'd known the prozac was there, I'd just forgotten about it.

Also, I'm suprised at how supportive this community is - I've been spending too much time on 4chan.

i read your post wrong, i thought u said u haven't had a sip of alch before...
but your next step out would probably try some weed...

but when i found my parents stash back in the day, i waited until i was home alone, took all the pill bottles i could find and googled all the names to see which were keepers...please dont just pop random pills hoping to get something out...not a smart idea

no, please read through our BDD guidelines. threads where substances are simply listed off are not allowed. we encourage you to do your own research on each substance, and then post here in BDD if you have specific questions you cannot find an answer to.

as you have found out, prozac has zero recreational potential. not only is it not recreational, but as other users have mentioned, it has to slowly build up in your blood over a long period of time. and while it is not recreational, it is a serious medication.
